King Alfred trouble

What a lot of sh!te people spout on here. A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing.

I was in the KA having a quiet beer when about 12-15, yes 12-15, very drunk and abusive Yeovil fans started causing trouble. When they were confronted they got violent throwing chairs and glasses and it was the Saints fans who had to defend themselves. I don't agree with what went on outside afterwards but people should know that the Yeovil fans weren't blameless.

Spot on. Yeovil thought they could throw their weight around in the pub so can't have any complaints. Some of you should be thankful there are at least some saints fans who can stick up for themselves.

I then see that fan lying in the road not moving.....He could have been killed by that mob !

The next complaint on here will be that games are too heavily policed. They can't win.

We've always had such an excellent reputation as trouble free fans over many years. 14 arrests in total were the stats for last season at the dell. We're heading for that level at each game now !

Well I hope anyone who saw any of this kicking off actually did what was needed and helped the OLD BILL identify those involved, theres no need for it, the guy on the floor not moving was whilst on the ground, by the 'brave few'

The good fans of this club need to drive these morns out by making sure they know they'll be getting their collars felt

I FIND THE ATTITUDE THAT VIOLENT BEHAVIOUR SHOULD BE TOLERATED IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM IN A CIVILISED SOCIETY TOTALLY REPUGNANT.

I wish the police would take firm action and magistrates should always impose a custodial sentence of at least 6 months served.

I don't care who the supporters are, why is football the only sport associated with violence?

Boxing? I mean outside the ring as well as inside. It seems to kick off regularly there.

Not that it makes football-associated violence any more excusable.

And Yeovil FFS? All I saw were bunches of families on a nice day out in the sun, having their photos taken by the statue of Ted Bates etc. Why do some idiots have to spoil it?

Did they run out of cider?

BTW the idiot in the Saints yellow away shirt who stood behind the protection of the two truncheon wielding pc's baiting and looking oh so hard - it may be time you grow up a bit and allow people to go about thier lives without fear of intimidation.

He sounds similar to a trolling cyber warrior.

I saw the trouble up by the crossroads, a guy was being set on by 3 or 4 others, and one fat bloke stamped on his head. The police came up and grabbed the smallest person involved, but let the fat bloke go. A guy in a Saints shirt ran up to the police and pointed out the fat bloke, who was then picked up . I was trying to get my Nipper out of the way, so I may have a few details wrong. The guy did look in a serious condition just laying on the pazement. Later on I spoke to a copper by the Railway Station and he told me there was a lot of trouble all day.

As I walked outside the ground by the KA I saw around 8 Yeovil fans gesturing and shouting obscenities at the Saints fans from outside the pub. They were being very abusive. When the police turned up(only 2 or 3) by that time the fans outside the pub were raged. I then walked on up Northam Road and I saw one Yeovil fan punch a small Saints fan and at this point the Yeovil fan was jumped and kicked to the ground. Other fans then jumped on his head despite the fact he looked out cold...disgusting. More police then turned up and proceeded to arrest the small Saints fan, despite the fact he was the one who had been punched. I guess something had gone on in the pub before. I thought the KA was a home fans only pub?

i dont llike to know there is trouble, but if you go to another city and start giving it the big one, Im sorry you get what you deserve.

The majority of Yeovil fans would have gone to the game and not been invovled in this the same with Saints fans.

lets keep this in perspective.Im sure similar incidents happen in every town most weekends where lads who big themselves up get a punch.

Mindless Saints fans did not attack a few middle aged Yeovil enjoying a quite drink. Yeovil lads left the game early to take the pub, Saints came in to be met by the 'green army' chant, Saints laid into them and there was a few slaps handed out. Yeovil got exactly what they went looking for. ps I counted 9 Yeovil, and they were still beckoning Saints lads whilst stood on the bypass behind the railings!

I'm not saying its right or wrong, just pointing out that it was not mindless Saints fans, Yeovil came looking, and found it. I'd also like to point out that Saints lads could of handed out a good kicking as numbers were on Saints side but were happy to give them a slap and send them on their way!

Just to put the record straight!!!

The Yeovil fans involved were ejected from the ground before the final; whistle, they then went straight to TKA, to carry on drinking. You dont get thrown out of SMS for nothing, so prehaps those actions speak for themselves alone.

I'm not being funny but when a bunch of Yokels from some small village football club come to town giving it large they are hardly going to be ignored. SFC run by the Worzels isn't exactly good for street cred. Me thinks the return fixture could have a certain edge to it...

Its about time the police made us play behind closed doors

LOL

Quite right mate, I mean, 3 pitch invasions during the game holding play up for several minutes, mounted police holding the hooligans at bay with riot police outside with baton's drawn with snarling dog's on the leash!!!!

i think the police should be armed with teethless dogs. Those dogs have an unfair advantage....mind you, when filming scenes for football violence films, dogs IMO should be equiped with a full set of razor sharp teeth and metal braces (when Skates are involved).

apparently the extra was a skate LOL

whatever the yeovil fans said or did in the run up to that trouble is pretty irrelevant. there's simply no excuse to stamp on someone's head whilst they're lying on the ground. absolute scum.

If you go looking for trouble it is no good complaining if the trouble you get is a bit more than you expected.Stamping on someones head is really not on but if you have gone in looking for it do not complain when you get it.

to be fair when I passed the KA a saints fan was shouting at them to go away as they'd already had one kicking and that to stay around would invite another one (but not in so many words) The Yeovil fans chose to stay and mouth off a bit more, so I really dont have a lot of sympathy for them, it was quite tame compared to the running battles down Hill Lane to the station in the 70's.....

Some of you need to get over yourselves, from my experience with football violence in the 80's the people doing it go looking for it and expect to get hurt.....it is not a bunch of idiots looking to beat up a family wearing football shirts,it is organized and the people involved are all consenting.......rightly or wrongly it happens and always probably will.

SO THERES NEVER ANYONE INNOCENTLY WALKING BY WHEN IT ALL KICKS OFF?

Never heard so much drivel as the above two posts regarding they went looking for it, what sort of an excuse is that ?

ALL fans should be able to sit in the ground or walk to or away from the ground without having the need to cross the road to avoid a group of moron's attempting to maim each other.

The scuffle on Saturday at the crossroads rapidly moved across the road , there were children close by who were quite rightly alarmed, but of course all the heroes doing the fighting made sure that they didn't strike anyone else whilst they were in full control of their actions? They didn't spill across the road without a care for anyone else ?

Nobody is making excuses for it,what I said is proper football violence is mostly organised.....what you witnessed was a minor scuffle by a bunch of idiots who got brave on a couple of weak largers.......the football shirts gives it away tbh.

Sorry LSS, but I ended up involved a couple of seasons ago purely because it kicked off when the 12 year old lad we brought with us was sat at a table near where it was going on.

yes Docker P ,alarmed as scared was probably too strong a word for what happened and as we know that kids imitate what they see whose not to say in the playground it'll get repeated when 'rival' teams get the usual school ribbing over a result.

we've all seen the chavvy teens and we all in reality know that teen hormones don't take a lot to start a pack mentality, so to trivialise what happened can't be a good thing, no fan should accept it now, I don't care what happened at grounds in the 70's and 80's , tell you what in the 40's my grandparents were at war, doesn't mean we shouldn't learn and strive to avoid it in the future

The world was a different place in the 80's,it was a more violent place to be,fans were treated worse than animals, caged up and angry, you had to fight your way to grounds and then fight your way back home again and not just with opposing fans but the old bill as well.

What you get today is sterile stadiums, plenty of freedom and relative safety.the trouble you see today is the local ****heads getting brave or the youngsters trying copy what their dads were upto back in the day.

For those hard men here advocating the violence - fair play to you, fully support it, love to see a damn good bundle where somebody gets a good old kicking.

But, please - don't associate it with football any more, don't associate it with our Club anymore.

The fact that it used to go on in the 70's and 80's, well whoopee, so did smoking in restaurants and public places. That is no longer socially accepted and neither should be 'football' violence.

By all means - go ahead, kick the shyte out of each other - just do it elsewhere.
