Keep knocking the current players and basically compare them with Premiership players.

FFS we are in league 1 with league 1 players who , imo, are the equal of most in this league.

Ronaldo's and Rooneys they ain't but there ours, we are where we are, and we ain't going to have superstars until we get back up to the top flight.

accept it and a few of you may start to enjoy scrappy wins

I agree 100% and after today's performance I think we can say we probably have the best defence in the league if Thomas can stay fit whilst bearing in mind things didn't quite come off for Harding today who IMO has been our player of the season to date. So likely even better to come from our back 4 and hopefully we will be able to hang onto those 1 goal leads in the future that in the recent past has cost us so dearly.

Pardew once again impressed with his post match interview and good to see he recognised there is still plenty to work on.

Tbf I wouldn't even compare them to championship players.

If you want to get out of the league you are in then you need players who are better or the best in your league... We've got a couple but the rest are pretty average.

my question is when people say "such and such is sh*t" but compared to who.

the list is endless Thomas, James, Lallana, Morgan, Whotton, Patterson, Mellis, Thompson, Saga, Lambart have all been slagged off this season so far

Obviously some days players dont play well and get criticised a bit that is surely reasonable.

If the team does not play well there must be a worry they will not have the luck and win games against better teams than Yeovil.

Most fans want to see good performances and good results

I think we'd do better than Pompey in the Prem with this team.

Hahahahahahahaahahahahahahaha.

Prior to today Poopey had an equal number of wins in the Premier league to us in League 1, despite our head start.

Anyone who thinks our team is better than theirs is deluded.

He did have a quiet game but this may have had something to do with the fact that he basically had nobody in front of him ! Lallana does not hog the wing and drifts inside most of the time, giving Harding little support to bomb forward !

Mills/Holmes offer much better balance on that side IMHO !!

If you want a full back to bomb on then the last thing you want your winger to do is hog the wing!

I agree and although Lallana did have a better game as regards his overall contribution he goes looking for the ball like a 10 year old at times and needs to make himself more available in wide positions. We are still failing to get in crosses from wde positions in open play and invariably a player from wide positions is cutting in and running square across the front of the 18 yard box and into a cul-de-sac of trouble.

yep agree and we still have murty to come back in too, Thomas is playing well and Perry is unlucky to miss out when he hasnt done anything wrong. Oh how nice it is to have a selection headache ;-)

But you don't want him in the middle of the pitch either to play a knock and run with and safe in the knowledge he will fill in behind you. That is the point I think Eurosaint was making not to mention the space that Yeovil could exploit unchallenged in front of Harding. Lallana drifts in to far to the centre playing on the left or right.

Yep, you only have to look at our goal difference to see that defensively we have been quite good and now getting a whole lot better and that our real problem is going forward. Still the priority in our position is to limit the opportunities for the teams we play and hopefully the rest will come as they work on things in training. Defensively we must now be the strongest in the league which makes a great base on which to build.

Agreed. Lets not get too far ahead of ourselves here. Pompey still have a good team, just not as good as about 17 other prem teams
