Granadino Posted 15 September, 2009 Posted 15 September, 2009 Surely this is bad news for our hopes of keeping him on loan much longer: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/middlesbrough/8257190.stm Is there a call back option? PS. Sorry if posted elsewhere, couldn't find it.
Thedelldays Posted 15 September, 2009 Posted 15 September, 2009 apparently there is NOT a call back option..but lets hope they dont need to come jan..
saintray Posted 15 September, 2009 Posted 15 September, 2009 Why is this bad news? they sound like there struggling money wise. offer them 1m and make them have to accept!!!
St Marco Posted 15 September, 2009 Posted 15 September, 2009 Of what i have seen of the lad i think he had done well. Would love to see him sign permenently for us.
S-Clarke Posted 15 September, 2009 Posted 15 September, 2009 No call back option. we have him until Jan 1st - confirmed on PNE's OS.
Professor Posted 15 September, 2009 Posted 15 September, 2009 Although Preston could call Trotman back in Jan it looks as if they would struggle to pay his wages, whereas if Saints want to keep him, they could offer him a payrise. It would be hard for PNE to call him back if he didn't want to play for them. Its a sad situation though, for a club that is trying to live within its means, as we know only too well.
West End Saint Posted 15 September, 2009 Posted 15 September, 2009 Why is this bad news? they sound like there struggling money wise. offer them 1m and make them have to accept!!! If we could get him for 1 million it would be a great buy cant see them accepting that & cant see him wanting to stay with us. The lad can play at a higher level I would expect to lose him in Jan which is a shame he is a great player.
S-Clarke Posted 15 September, 2009 Posted 15 September, 2009 http://www.pne-online.net/forum/showthread.php?t=43491&page=2 interesting posts on there... seems like Trotman has had a falling out with the manager there, which is why he was shipped out - they don't think he'll play for them again.

I wonder how much they got him for...maybe go in with a "their money back" offer...
S-Clarke Posted 15 September, 2009 Posted 15 September, 2009 I wonder how much they got him for...maybe go in with a "their money back" offer... 500k i think. interestingly (i know it's not the real world..!) but on FM, we have a ''agreed price'' of 750k on the loan, and this is from the latest DB update. but anyway, i think if we showed them near on £1m they'd accept.
Stepgar Posted 15 September, 2009 Posted 15 September, 2009 (edited) 500k i think. interestingly (i know it's not the real world..!) but on FM, we have a ''agreed price'' of 750k on the loan, and this is from the latest DB update. but anyway, i think if we showed them near on £1m they'd accept. That would be way too much at this stage, nearer 500-700k with poss add ons etc maybe but no way is a player that can't get in to a champonship side be worth that much Edited 15 September, 2009 by Stepgar sorry didn't make my self very clear - the 1mil thingy
Andy_Porter Posted 15 September, 2009 Posted 15 September, 2009 Dont think he's worth anything over about 400k, saying that we paid 1.2m for Thomas so going by that we will probably sign him for about 7m.

skintsaint Posted 15 September, 2009 Posted 15 September, 2009 Trotman and irvine have fallen out since trotman told him what he thought of him after the tranmere game.....HES ****ED IT!!!!!!!!!

Now now Thomas has been a revalation this season - at right back!!! Jaidi Trotman and Thomas now that is a sizeable back line
Saint Bones Posted 17 September, 2009 Posted 17 September, 2009 Good news allround. No recall option and gives us half a season to see if he is worth pursuing. PNE's money situatiion doesn't sound the best so maybe an offer come January, based on AP i'd imagine.

Looks like they'll be getting £4.5m for St.Ledger from 'Boro in January (source BBC) so they'll be unlikely to be hauling Trotman back to fill that void. More likely they'll be buying a replacement.
Fan The Flames Posted 17 September, 2009 Posted 17 September, 2009 500k i think. interestingly (i know it's not the real world..!) but on FM, we have a ''agreed price'' of 750k on the loan, and this is from the latest DB update. but anyway, i think if we showed them near on £1m they'd accept. Yes 500k according to Soccerbase. It would be great to get hold of him, he was excellant against Charlton. Shame to see Preston in financial trouble; I thought they had a backer obviously not.
Saint Bones Posted 18 September, 2009 Posted 18 September, 2009 I would think Trotman and Trotman's agent might have a say! Ha Ha Indeed. Sorry, speaking from our side of the fence
Saint Fan CaM Posted 18 September, 2009 Posted 18 September, 2009 Not sure I agree with those saying they wouldn't pay £1m for him and comparing him to Thomas. Surely we should be buying a player for an amount that is sensible, but an amount that reflects the players worth TO US....i.e. if he gels with Jaidi and they contribute to a near clean sheet for the rest of the season, he's got to be worth at least £1m - perhaps more?
mattyd Posted 18 September, 2009 Posted 18 September, 2009 The Preston manager confirmed that there is no recall option for Trotman
Micky Posted 18 September, 2009 Posted 18 September, 2009 I would think Trotman and Trotman's agent might have a say! I agree. Would also like to know where this 1 million pounds is coming from? I take it that we have no operating budget now and can just snap up players for silly money. Damn easy to spend other peoples money - my, life is grand now!
