No it doesn't. It's off Shirley Road, town end.

Sorry ... I read Laundry Road. I have no idea why.

I think I was thrown by his comments about being near the hospital!

FWIW and IMO etc, Landguard Road is in 'B+B Land'. Some cheap flats, but obviously a lot of HMOs and a fair amount of DSS / bedsits.

With apartments in developments like The Dell tumbling in price, I'd be looking for somewhere like that instead.

Right, I am now in the Shirley area so most importantly I need to know where I can find the best curry house and Chinese takeaway. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Ta

Kam Ling is good for Chinese takeaways (near Foys Corner)

Curry house.

I always liked take-aways from the place next to QuickFit in Park Street, opposite Wilkinson's. Alaways used rto give us a free bottle of cheap plonk too.

Dining in though was a little less of a pleasurable experience as the coffe machine, endless phone calls and delivery men in and out and in and out could take the edge off it a bit.

Have you tried Little Budha yet? Their Sunday Buffet deal is brilliant, it the type wheer you order what you want from the standard menu and as long as you eat clear your plate you get to order more, including pudding if you leave enough room.

Also for Italian food, I would recommend Puccinni's near the bingo hall. The kitchens are quite open so you get all the delicious garlic smell wafting around and also the benefit of knowing that kitchen is clean and well run. On the downside I feel the Head waiter/manager talks to his staff like ****, which to my mind is un-necessary and un called for.

Hope that helps.

I am now starving hungry, thank's for that.

Go eat your nuts then Hammy ;)

That is actually quite spooky as I have today taken delivery of a handy lunch box from graze.com through the post which does indeed contain nuts.

I was going to post a link to the site as they also sent me a discount code. Later maybe.

but first golf, ASDA (wine), listen to girls talking nonsense (hence the wine), maybe pub for 2 pints of anything then watch 'waterways' on Sky+ box, and finally to bed.

Best Indian in the Shirley area is Jehangir. Trouble is, it's all the way up by the Common so is as good as 'Bassett' really.

The Raj of Shirley is great for an Indian take away though and that is on Romsey Road.
