Thedelldays Posted 14 September, 2009 Posted 14 September, 2009 brilliant story (in a certain way) great touch by the county fans....
ottery st mary Posted 14 September, 2009 Posted 14 September, 2009 Nice touch by all concerned..Brought a tear to my eye....Well done Baker and good luck to his other brother.
hamster Posted 14 September, 2009 Posted 14 September, 2009 The sort of story that can really put a lump in your throat, his younger brother also has leukaemia, so tough times ahead. A trying time for any family. God bless Michael.
gonzo Posted 14 September, 2009 Posted 14 September, 2009 Nice touches by the club as well, donating 30% of the fee from their advertising boards to Leukaemia Research, despite their own money worries. Well done to Stockport County and its supporters.
Upton72 Posted 14 September, 2009 Posted 14 September, 2009 Restores your faith in human nature stories like that
swannymere Posted 14 September, 2009 Posted 14 September, 2009 Pitythe Print media won't touch this story with a bargepole, they're only interested in scandal and stories that put football in a bad light.
John Boy Saint Posted 14 September, 2009 Posted 14 September, 2009 Perhaps we should have a bucket Leukaemia Research collection before the Home Stockport County game. Or maybe at least one game a season a Charity matchday with collections, special players shirts, matchday, and matchball sponsors being a Charity of this type, Barcelona and Aston Villa both do it all season; and we are a much bigger team than they are. :-)

Someone will know more.

We have had the shirts with the Poppies on around Remembrance Sunday, I was thinking something a bit more independent from annual national concentrated campaign. Being a predominantly male attendance something like Testicular Cancer, would be an obvious choice, especially as it is such a big killer with the media almost treating it as a "oh by the way" story.
