"Portsmouth is the only Premier League team south of London and has a potential fan base of 8 million to draw from," Al Fahim said.

What percentage of those were at FP yesterday? LMAO.

This did make me chuckle.

Mind you they did get 200,000 on Southsea common for the FA Cup parade.....ahhhh,where are they now.

Did anybody tell him that his club's ramshackle 20,000 seater stadium was 4,000 short of capacity yesterday?

Shows how much of their recent support were just fairweather fans, when we are getting similar attendances two divisions below them.

Potentially 8million?! Whhhaattt?!

Having watched MOTD last night:

1. Piquonne (no idea how to spell it) is fast becoming one of my favourite players.

2. Someone needs to lamp the bell with the bell, so annoying. If he wasn't about then maybe they could fill the shed.

I was on a course yesterday with a journo from the news and what he told me (that they have dared not print yet) is:

The takeover has not gone through yet despite protestations to the contrary

Gaydemak/gayboy LOANED Al Fahim money to try and secure the takeover (the good Dr has no money)

The good Dr is not around right now but has promised to be back for the Everton game (which coincidentally happens to be live on Sky)

Any takeover has been leveraged against future Sky monies

In his view, the blue few are absolutely screwed - yet most fans they have spoken to were quite happy to swap financial security (living within thier means) for the FA Cup win and stupid overspending that bought that.

I know this reeks of schadenfreude but don't you just love it when a plan falls apart?

Rumour has it that Al Fahim is soon to start drilling for oil in Leigh Park and has plans to turn it into a development to rival Sandbanks.:D

This is a great read IMO............he is a loon......

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601102&sid=azM4ttYIAWBo

£35Million matchday takings! Just under £2 Million a game. Quickly doing some maths but that sounds an awful lot of money from 17,000 fans. Presumably that will include programmes and merchandising? Average £120 per fan per match?

He really is a loon!

Not even the blue few could be that daft . . .

. . . could they?

Oh dear, they're planning a protest already

http://www.fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=184037

That is well funny, this season is the first time in years they have something close to a sustainable wage bill and they just cannot handle it.

We had 27 years living within our means in the top flight, a large part of that having our best players sold by nobhead chairmen, 5 mins of the same and they are deserting in droves and protesting!

I don't know what they hope to achieve by protesting, if there was anyone else interested in buying the club (unlikley), they would run a mile looking at that mess.

I still find all this as funny as feck.

Sultan Bin Trump made Whacko look like a professional PR expert from day one in his time at Hydra.

What just amazes me is how nobody at the Skates seemed to even tried and do some very basic digging.

I cannot believe that they have nobody who could have interpreted the "cultural signals" that his track record showed. (More on that on the main forum later)

He was a part of a "fixer" operation but took the claim for the work done by Amanda Stavely and her "contact book" at Man City.

He was kicked out from the Man City deal faster than Whacko gave interviews. His Hydra Executive TV show (as posted on here) should have given notice of what Storrie was getting into.

And where was his money coming from when he started? None other than Taksin. Now forget all about that being rumbled, didn't anyone doubt his business ethics in his choice of partner?

He blew his world apart when he opened his mouth with the whole Man City deal. That caused him to lose his friends and contacts, what happened to his "employment" position after that??

And he expects to earn his 100 mil from property deals in the UAE? Duh, and they believed him?

Doesn't ANYONE in the UK read the papers? Haven't they seen the links I posted about Hydra customers forming class action groups or even the somewhat gentle cooling of the market here?

He may well find a fool to part from his money in the US, but so far the whole thing is making Jacko and Bournemouth seem like one of the most professional deals of all time.

I have nothing against him personally, he is actually not a bad chap by all accounts, but the point is that local businessmen have particular ways of doing business, it is alien to Europeans, but it is very professional and once you understand it, very simple. However this guys' somewhat arrogant and self-publicising approach are bringing this region into disrepute. We don't like it and I expect more and more of his friends and contacts are "tied up in meetings" at the moment

I was hearing on the radio yesterday that the PL is proposing to stop clubs with financial problems from buying new players.

I guess this will hit Poopey hard.

You are indeed correct,PL will impose harsher sanctions on clubs that are in financial difficulties, one of these sanctions will be halting all transfer dealings for the club in question.

Also all clubs have to produce an extensive audit of their financial dealings periodically,i believe each March.

PL will also have the capacity to make financial decisions regarding that club.

All take place with immediate effect.

The ultimate sanction is expulsion from the league, however i somehow doubt this would happen.

Is it me or are the PL bringing in these new rules just in time to stitch up the Skates? The new stricter Fit and Proper Person Test was brought in the nick of time to stop Taksin's dirty money buying pompey. Now they are bringing in tough financial rules at a time when pompey appear to be up against it.

It wouldn't surprise me if the PL are ****ed off about how Gaydamak used his son to get round the original FPP rules - it can't be good to have a gun-runner connected to your league when you are trying to market it as the best to a worldwide audience. Especially when the club in question doesn't have a proper ground.

I think you are all doing the good doctor a disservice.

It is blatantly obvious, that in the theme of "Agent Redknapp", "Dr Saints" is executing a formulated and calculated plan, to rid the premiership of the local doss house, all in the name of the mighty "Red and White"

We shouldn't be mocking him or poking fun, we should applaud his wonderful gesture towards the people of Southampton and drink a toast to the outstanding "Dr Saints" who will address the imbalance we have endured for the last 4 years, far quicker than any other man.

:drinkers:

According to a Pompey fan on another forum I use who appears to have contacts in the right places, Peter Storrie attended a supporters group meeting a few days ago and told them that during the Man City game, al-Fahim asked him - completely straight-faced without any sense of taking the p!ss - if they could stop the match so he could get up and wave to the fans. Needless to say, Storrie has arranged for this particular gem to be edited out of the minutes of the meeting

I heard this as well. I believe he asked the head steward.
