Saint_Jonny Posted 11 September, 2009 Share Posted 11 September, 2009 Ello, Right ive just moved to huddersfield for uni, its lovely lovely but to fill the boring spaces I'm ganna need Xbox Live. The set up here is my laptop connected to an Ethernet network, and my xbox has a wireless adapter. Ive managed to create a good network once or twice and get it connected, but its pot luck as to weather or not it works. Anyone know where I might be going wrong? I create an ad-hoc wireless network and it hardly ever connects (it is always found though) and sometime when I do the same process, it just works? The only other alternitive is to bridge my wireless and hard connections, but that just disconnects me from the net for not good reason.. (if i could get this idea to work it'd solve alot of problems!!) Cheers for any help you can think of
saint_stevo Posted 11 September, 2009 Share Posted 11 September, 2009 Can you use the ethernet cable to plug into a Wireless Router? Seems the easiest option
Saint_Jonny Posted 11 September, 2009 Author Share Posted 11 September, 2009 Thats an added cost! And the network is password protected so needs logging into to get access. Hmmm.. if only my laptop had an extra ethernet port! I could just shunt the connection out through that in into my xbox somehow.
Al de Man Posted 11 September, 2009 Share Posted 11 September, 2009 You can probably pick up a second hand four-port switch or router with a switch for a fiver on eBay.
