spyinthesky Posted 11 September, 2009 Posted 11 September, 2009 If anyone's interested in how Football Finance works, and an honest appraisal by a club Chairman, have a look at the article by the Blackburn Rovers Chairman in online site for the Lancashire Telegraph. Just confirms how much players wages are affecting club finances. Surprised to find Blackburn have sold 18,500 season tickets
Glasgow_Saint Posted 11 September, 2009 Posted 11 September, 2009 18,500 season tickets!! Madness Couldnt find a link on the Lancashire Telegraph?
Saint_Jonny Posted 11 September, 2009 Posted 11 September, 2009 I always thought Blackburn had really poor support, shows what I know! Good on em'
krissyboy31 Posted 11 September, 2009 Posted 11 September, 2009 I always thought Blackburn had really poor support, shows what I know! Good on em' It was because of their poor support that they slashed ST prices last season.
Saint2Hotty Posted 11 September, 2009 Posted 11 September, 2009 I think they were quite cheap compared to most clubs.
spyinthesky Posted 11 September, 2009 Author Posted 11 September, 2009 18,500 season tickets!! Madness Couldnt find a link on the Lancashire Telegraph? Go to Lancashiretelegraph.co.uk. Click on sport then the Blackburn Rovers badge. Interesting to see all the competition clubs in this area have, especially with the 4 big Liverpool/Manchester clubs close by. Also a feature on Bolton targeting the Blackburn area offering up cheap price tickets
CanadaSaint Posted 11 September, 2009 Posted 11 September, 2009 I went to Totton GS with John Williams for six years or more - he was a big Saints fan then but we suffered under the yoke of it being an all-Rugby school!
dune Posted 11 September, 2009 Posted 11 September, 2009 I always thought Blackburn had really poor support, shows what I know! Good on em' Southampton population - 228,600 (20% ethnic minority) Blackburn population - 105,085 (20% ethnic minority) When you add to this the fact that Blackburn is surounded by other clubs it shows how crap our support really is. That said it can be argued that the sea covers 50% of our catchment base.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 11 September, 2009 Posted 11 September, 2009 That said it can be argued that the sea covers 50% of our catchment base. It's a well known fact that the Skates favour PFC , but I understand we're still big among the Haddocks . Cod on the other hand are massive Poole Town fans .
