John B Posted 11 September, 2009 Share Posted 11 September, 2009 Why is Tremlett not playing at the moment not another injury.
Lets B Avenue Posted 11 September, 2009 Share Posted 11 September, 2009 Was injured the other week, but as he played in the 2nd XI match last Friday I guess he wasn't picked. Not exactly missed!
dellgirl Posted 11 September, 2009 Share Posted 11 September, 2009 On his day he is lethal, but with his height and the damage he does his body, like other fine players he gets injured..he is one of ours, support him.....
Weston Saint Posted 11 September, 2009 Share Posted 11 September, 2009 For the Somerset game he had a shoulder injury and was having an injection. He played in the 2nd 11 as stated above but his figures were not impressive. Simple fact is that he cannot get in the side at present even when fit. chrisobee Posted 11 September, 2009 Share Posted 11 September, 2009 Well Hants are interested in not just Kabir Ali but Simon Jones as well. Would not be surprised to see him leave, he needs something to try to get back to being a decent player again.

He said he had heard nothing. Griffiths is out of contract and Middlesex & Yorkshore are interested. Hants talking to him about a new contract when I spoke to him. He may have a difficult decision to make. He is a Man Utd supporter by the way!

I must have missed that day. I really think it is time for us to release him and repalce him with a decent strike bolwer who actually takes wickets and wins matches, something Tremlett has not done for us for years. I wouldn't be surprised to see Brett Lee as the second overseas player for the T20 competition next year after hearing his glowing praise of Hampshire and the Rose Bowl earlier in the week. AndyNorthernSaints Posted 11 September, 2009 Share Posted 11 September, 2009 Maybe if he applied himself, put in the effort, made the most of his talent, for example like someone such as Cork he might get in the team.
chrisobee Posted 11 September, 2009 Share Posted 11 September, 2009 Maybe if he applied himself, put in the effort, made the most of his talent, for example like someone such as Cork he might get in the team. He does apply himself, if you know his Dad you'll know he does not lack application. Trouble is so many injuries have just destroyed his confidence so much he was a better player when he first played 1st class cricket 1n 2000. He used to score some useful runs and take wickets and actually played his 1st ODI in 2005 v Bangladesh and took 4 wickets I think it was. He was also a regular in the Ashes squad that year. I cannot remember all his injuries but he missed the tour to Pakistan in 2005/06 due to surgery on his knee and hip though it's really the last 2 years or so he has been plagued by injuries and I don't think it is coincidence his performances have really dropped off in that time. If you have ever spoken to him you'll know he's an extremely nice, modest guy, maybe he could do with a little more of the devil in him but that's just not the way he is. corsacar saint Posted 11 September, 2009 Share Posted 11 September, 2009 If Tremlett got out of his comfort zone and left, it would probably be best for both himself and the club.
