I've got this gut feeling that when we finally get our first league win under our belts its not going to stop. Now Jaidi's on board we have to be the toughest outfit in L1; management, players, stadium, crowds, etc etc, is this blind optimism?

Totally agree

One of our main problems is the atmosphere that has taken hold of the club due to the dark years. It will take sometime before we can finally shake that losing mentality we have had for sometime.

Once we get a win the players will take confidence from it and they will begin to grow as a unit. It must be frustrating to see you play 3 games in a row and deserve at least 2 wins from those but still get booed by a few home fans. If you look at it on paper we have one of the strongest first teams in this league. We are capable of winning 50% of our remaining games for sure. The Charlton game marks our hardest game for sometime. We have a nice run of 6 games now sort of like Charlton have had against teams expected to battle relegation. If we can say win 5 of those 6 games we really could go on a good run of results.

Thats exactly how I see it, we ought to be the team to beat, once we get going and the team gels.....

I think Charlton will be a good test for us and a good game to measure how much we have improved and to see the overall quality of our team. Charlton are a side we have played against regularly over the past several years unlike the teams we have played so far that have maybe raised their games against us and, viewed us as one of the four to beat this season.

I understand that Charlton may view us this way too given the history with Pardew but I see this game as a more even contest to see our strengths and weakness against a club more familiar and similar to us in recent times. With both sets of players eager to prove a point for their respective clubs/fans this game could be a great one, hopefully with Saints coming away with a win.

If there was ever a game to start us winning, I would hope it was this one.

When we win our first game, everyone on here will be all happy and start expecting the climb up the table to start.

The mood will soon change if we fail to win our game after that.

Tbh I just don't see where our next win is coming from - I would say Yeovil but its at St Marys.
