England At the Rosebowl

Well it is looking like another feeble batting effort after winning the toss and actually deciding to bat this time. Strauss made an excellent 63 but Bopara ( why on earth is he still in the team ? ) Prior and Shah all failed. 114/4 off 27 with Collingwood on 19 and Morgan on 10. Wright, Swann, Bresnan, Sidebottom and Anderson to come. No place for Rashid, he'd do better than Bopara never mind of course he can bowl too.

we are ****e at this arent we, and what changes will be made for the next game? Probably none. Time for a new, specialist coach to take charge of the one day game and let flower etc concentrate on tests. And pleaseeee England, start selecting players who can actually hit it and dictate play

Mrs ecuk268 dropped us off and picked us up from the Marks & Sparks car park. No problems at all.

From what I could see, there were loads of buses and it all seemed to be going quite smoothly after the game.

The only thing was the concourse was absolutely jammed during the break. It took me about 20 mins just to go for a leak.

I went yesterday and I can only assume Rashid is not playing because either they don't want Aussies to see much of him before next year's Ashes. If that isn't the case, I can only assume Miller is playing County politics again. It is the reason why Collingwood and Bopara play. Why Shah plays, no-one knows.

I watched Napier troubling Tresco and Langer with 90mph short balls and yorkers the other night - and he can bat although not such a great season with the bat. Still, worth picking for the bowling. What has Trott done wrong - clearly not a brownoser, that's how you get on at the ECB. Joyce did well in Aus yet a couple of low scores in the WC and he's out yet great Sussex season and a million times better on his worst day than Shah or Ravi are on their best ones. Prior should be on probation in the ODIs with Keiswetter qualifying and Davies's move to Surrey. Saw Shazhad for Yorks tonight - very good young quick and accurate, destroyed Hants at Basingstoke in tandem with Rashid. Two good British Asians to represent Yorks and England for the next few years.
