... after giving away over 1000 tickets to local schools ( massive LOL ) , there are still over 4,500 ( FOUR THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED ) tickets left for Saturdays game against Bolton.

Now, let's not forget that it is also 'kids for a quid' promotion is also on for this game.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRDEEEEHAAAA!!!

Ooooh, rallying cry from Peter Storrie can be found here...

it is well known they have very poor support - lacking in numbers.

I lol'ed in lead up to cup final when radio solent interviewed someone who had to queue from 6 in morning to get ticket!

Can't even fill their shack with kids for a quid!

I wonder what excuse the blue few will come up with this time.

Not only that, but they had to give away 1000 tickets to boost the numbers!

Now for the maths.

20k capacity

1500 tickets to Bolton

1000 tickets to schoolkids

4500 tickets still left

by my maths, that means even not including the kids for a quid, they have sold 13000 tickets for this game.

Would love to hear Crap Ho view on this!

Sh*t club with no real sizable fan element, always has been, always will be.

Why waste the resources on a 40k or so stadium down there when they can't even get behind their team in their time of need.

A total joke.

Storrie must be wrong as Ho assured us his mate at the club had told him that they were going to exceed the 13500 s/ts last season and were expecting 16k this season.

Storrie can't be right and Ho wrong. My figure of 9800 s/t may just be right Eh Ho?

I have just seen someone on the BBC boards say that the reason that they can't sell all the tickets is because the ground is too small after it went all seater.

I know that some people stopped trying to get tickets at the Dell because it got too difficult, but not 4,000 of 'em.

His arguement was that they used to get 25K in the 3rd division years ago. I prefer to think that if you mapped the attendance against the position in whichever league they are in, you would see the trend. 8-10 K core support and the rest only come if they are winning.

He also said that they were going to sell 17,000 season tickets. As CoHo has said this it must be true. Therefore they can't have 4,500 tickets left. Its just not possible.

How many of those 13k are STs and therefore counted automatically?

1982, last time skates were as low as us, in 3rd division - they averaged...............

.....8,500!

their best average in last 50 years was in 1968 with 22,000.

They are both small in numbers and deluded!

by the way their average most years in CCC or equiv (div 2) was about 8,000.

I posted this elsewhere earlier, I thought I'd move it to the right place now:

They are also giving away exec tickets in a competion on Wave 105 this morning, and to paraphrase "you'll need to be by your computers, because this will be a question that only the die-hards will know" (or something like that).

I assumed all the 'die-hards' would already have their tickets.

They are so ****ing funny, it's great that even though we're minus 6 in L1, we still laugh our tits off at them.

Big club..... hahahaha

It's gone VERY QUIET round here, hasn't it?

only sold 17,500 with 3,000 odd Bolton fans, kid for a quid, and giving away 1000 tickets. Without the promotions would probably have been 14,500-15,000.

Idoubt there was that many but still only 17,500

So let's get this right.

Our South Coast mega European giant neighbours, who are on the verge of signing half of the Argie national team to play alongside the goalscoring legend, Danny Webber, gave 1000 tickets away, charged kids for a quid, managed a crowd of 17500?

I can see why Barca are quaking in their boots.

incidentally, anyone have an accurate idea of how many bolton sold?

The 3000 touted by the racist further up the page seems a little exaggerated to me.

I reckon no more than 5-600, Boltons support is as bad as the Skates.
