Pilchards Posted 6 September, 2009 Share Posted 6 September, 2009 Showed my girlfriend how to play chess for the first time and she bloody checkmates me in 11 moves. Now I'm very good at this game as I've not lost for 10 years, problem is I was concentrating on helping her how to play it that I left my pieces exposed. She said if I put that queen there does it mean your in check? Alittle smile from me was for the fact she really does understand it however that turned to sulk after I realised I could not get out of it. I'm gutted totally :-( Have you been gazumped in a situation like mine? bloody woman arggghhhhh.,,...

No matter who I played against. I bagged a few stale-mates but never actually beat someone so I stopped playing when I was about 14! Fair play to her! Beginners luck or natural talent? hamster Posted 7 September, 2009 Share Posted 7 September, 2009 Just like you Sambosa, I too have never won a game in my life. No names, but a few years ago we hade a relative stay witt us, he has a learning disability. Like a right plum I was gleefully rubbed my hands when he challenged me to a game. Yes, I thiught, this is my chance to break my duck. WRONG. When he started to laugh every time I even touched one of my pieces I got a little pee'd off and did consider flipping the board over, but settled for 'letting him win'. Unless we ever meet, I fear that I am destined to die a chess loser. It can't be that hard, surely!!!

Baj Posted 7 September, 2009 Share Posted 7 September, 2009 Have you been gazumped in a situation like mine? bloody woman arggghhhhh.,,... My wife had never played pool until about 3 weeks ago. So helped show her how to hold the cue etc, after a few really dodgy shots, and me moving the balls around to help her (ooer), she was on red and black to win, which she did, with ease.... divorce papers arrive tomorrow. saint_stevo Posted 7 September, 2009 Share Posted 7 September, 2009 Having been playing golf for about 5 years and getting down to 7, i was fairly confident when the mrs (now ex) decided she fancied playing some mini golf at Center Parcs. Showed her how to grip the putter properly etc, which she totally ignored, all she wanted was a yellow ball to play with (ooer) Over 18holes, i lost by 6shots, had a paddy and had to buy the pancakes in the hut round the corner. Not happy......
rpb Posted 7 September, 2009 Share Posted 7 September, 2009 I once won a proper (at Southampton Chess Club) game of chess when my opponent fell asleep - he failed to make 36 moves in an hour and a quarter. I was tempted to do the decent thing and wake him but resisted...

I do recall a situation with my ex where I bumped into some work mates in the dog and duck, it was me and my ex versus them two in pool. My ex has only played once before this so we really had no chance. Put it this way she potted everything and even did a screw back once. I was gobsmacked but happy to win, since that time she has been (a)sh.it ever since Edited 7 September, 2009 by Pilchards
J Bizzle Posted 7 September, 2009 Share Posted 7 September, 2009 i once lost a penalty shoot out to a girl. She scored 5, I scored 4. Its one of only 4 Penalties i've ever missed, can't believe a girl beat me.

RedAndWhite91 Posted 7 September, 2009 Share Posted 7 September, 2009 A girl beat me at pool so I challenged her to another game and won, and then won the next 5 games. A few weeks later she beat me at crazy golf. So I challenged her to pitch and putt and I beat her, HAH. The moral of the story is, keep trying; cos eventually you will get a win and you will feel great that you have beaten a girl at something...
