What's happened to Spotify

Unless I am very much mistaken, Spotify's library has changed. I wanted to listen to a decent version of Stairway to Heaven and it is jam packed full of tribute versions. And some not very good ones either. I could not find the Led Zep IV version, which is my favourite. Looked for Comfortably Numb and Pigs too, to no avail. Is it me?

LZ have never been on there.

Unfortunately some artists have opted not to be added to Spotify at this time, some frequently requested artists that are not in Spotify include Metallica, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, ACDC and Led Zeppelin, etc.

No, it's not iffy at all, butit does of course require the legitamate cooperation of the record labels and artists. As such, there are still a few that think Spotify will harm their sales more than help them... and they're probably right.

Floyd and Led Zep have not and will not be on Spotify due to legalities over ownership of copyright and infringments,or something similar.

Basically neither band want to have their tunes available as they fear the damage it will do for sales and royalties.

Pink floyd concerned about sales figures??? WTF!? They haven't released an album for over 15 years and they have sold millions upon millions of copies worldwide. They are basically rolling in a massive pit of money, and yet they are concerned about the small dent that spotify might put in their sales?

Truly unbelievable.

Surely it's the same with the Beatles?

I doubt if they're on Spotify.

It's more to do with people being protective of a back catalogue.

You never see the Beatles on any of those gash 60s compilation box sets, which is pretty hilarious really seeing as they epitomise the 60s!

itll work over 3g, but if last.fm is anything to go by, not very well, however, you can cache 3,333 songs to offline mode!! so effectively download them! they will work for up to 30 days WITHOUT logging into spotify, so you can bugger off on holiday and still use them :)

you can only download songs for offline mode over wifi
