ladysaint Posted 6 September, 2009 Posted 6 September, 2009 decided I would sort through all my tickets stubs and have now decided to put them all into a sort of album. Anyone know if or where I can buy an album for English Football clubs so that I can display the stubs against the relevant club, I am sad I know.
PaulSaint Posted 6 September, 2009 Posted 6 September, 2009 Found this one on a US site, dont seem that popular here? http://www.thatsmyticket.com/ssptat.html
Dan Posted 6 September, 2009 Posted 6 September, 2009 I just have mine in seasons. A different envelope per season, then all the envelopes in a box. Keeps them in order and tidy.
PaulSaint Posted 6 September, 2009 Posted 6 September, 2009 What about a plastic sleeved photo album for panaramic photos?
leehoudini Posted 6 September, 2009 Posted 6 September, 2009 How about looking where to buy a life instead....
JRM Posted 6 September, 2009 Posted 6 September, 2009 I just have mine in seasons. A different envelope per season, then all the envelopes in a box. Keeps them in order and tidy. Ha same here mate, plus an envelope for "special" international / England matches and games done abroad / as a neutral
chrisobee Posted 6 September, 2009 Posted 6 September, 2009 Blimey, I have never kept a ticket stub in my life! Even the one for the 1976 FA Cup Final I gave to a friend as a souvenir along with a programme as the poor guy was ill and missed going to the final. That one I might otherwise have kept but probably would long since have lost it !

That one I might otherwise have kept but probably would long since have lost it ! My old man gave me his programme and his rosette, not sure what happened to his ticket stub. He's also got an amazing photo of Bobby Stokes celebrating his goal in front of thousands of ecstatic Saints fans......... and in the middle of the crowd you can clearly see my old man jumping up with his hands in the air. The picture appeared in a newspaper the next day I think and he contacted them to get a copy. I'll see if I can scan it and get it up on here.... maybe some of you are in the crowd?

Dan Posted 7 September, 2009 Posted 7 September, 2009 Ha same here mate, plus an envelope for "special" international / England matches and games done abroad / as a neutral ha ha, the thing is I actually have. Along with a cricket and concert envelope.
ladysaint Posted 7 September, 2009 Author Posted 7 September, 2009 How about looking where to buy a life instead.... Actually some ticket stubs are worth a lot of money and keep mine so I know what grounds I have been to as well. My partner keeps all his from concerts as well i.e. Nirvana/Red Hot Chilli Peppers etc., before any of them were popular and think some of them are worth money.
The9 Posted 7 September, 2009 Posted 7 September, 2009 My match tickets are all in the original Euro 1996 paper wallet, which is starting to get a little bit overcrowded now - basically the pile of tickets is about 6 inches thick and the wallet... isn't. Might get a couple of those for storage... not sure I'm going to invest in the screw-in the wall glass display frames though!
brianoneils slidingtackle Posted 7 September, 2009 Posted 7 September, 2009 Ticket stubs ??? thats a new one on me, but I do collect programmes from all the games I actually attend, sad aint I :-)
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 7 September, 2009 Posted 7 September, 2009 I started to collect ticket stubs for Footy/Gigs etc about 5 years ago. They're starting to come along nicely so I would too like to know what I can get a nice little 'album' for them.
deadpanmatt Posted 7 September, 2009 Posted 7 September, 2009 How about looking where to buy a life instead.... Good one...
red&white56 Posted 7 September, 2009 Posted 7 September, 2009 I've kept my ticket stubbs from the 1976 semifinal and the final, plus the final of the league cup 1979. I've put them on display with my World cup semifinal ticket plus a few other interesting tickets. But someone mentioned a rosette - I'd forgotten about them - didn't keep mine but I had one at the '76 final. Do you think they could make a comeback at SMS???
Michelle Posted 7 September, 2009 Posted 7 September, 2009 I've got virtually all mine too. Never thrown one out, same with my gig tickets. Jan, get yourself some "Hagner" stock sheets, which you can then put into a file of your choice. They're generally used for philatelic items, but are multi-purpose - I've also heard of things like telephone cards and postcards being stored in them.
SaintJackoInHurworth Posted 8 September, 2009 Posted 8 September, 2009 Hmm - I thought stubs were the bit of the ticket usually kept by the stewards. I thought the rest was just known as the ticket? Or is it the bit kept by the stewards that you are talking about? I have got a number of tickets from matches I have been to, especially the 1979 League Cup Final. I also have the programme and rosette from that match.

Anyone know if or where I can buy an album for English Football clubs so that I can display the stubs against the relevant club, I am sad I know. I think people should start to save ticket studs now. Afterall it's the start of the good times again... slow start of the good times... but nonetheless the start!
dune Posted 8 September, 2009 Posted 8 September, 2009 I am sad I know. :smt045 I've noticed on ebay how people buy and sell used ticket stubs and always thought it weird. If anyone wishes to purchase 20 used Regal dog ends let me know.
Kaiser Soze Posted 8 September, 2009 Posted 8 September, 2009 All my tickets are kept in an Adidas shoe box at home. I reckon there is in excess of 10 grand worth of tickets in there!
Hemel Saint Posted 8 September, 2009 Posted 8 September, 2009 I've got virtually all mine too. Never thrown one out, same with my gig tickets. I keep a ticket stub for every NEW ground I have been too. ...and that included BUCHAREST too.... The sad thing is.... we had our tickets, and got all the way to the security guards at the base of the dilapidated steps at the entrance to the ground, and they simply ripped the tickets in half! bloody annoying really! Did anyone ever get to keep a full match ticket for Bucharest?

Did anyone ever get to keep a full match ticket for Bucharest? Don't think so, mine is in pretty good nickthough, everything is still fully legible. Though I do have that problem with an Eastleigh friendly match ticket - straight down the middle. Good job I know what it's from!
knellster Posted 9 September, 2009 Posted 9 September, 2009 I've got my Bucharest ticket in perfect condition 'cos I asked the steward just to tear a tiny piece off. He looked at his mate who smiled and said something in Rumanian that I would guess was along the lines of "here's another anorak who hasn't got a life" and then gave the whole ticket back to me. It is now in a Smith's photo album which doesn't have pockets so can take tickets of any size (which I guess just proves that the Rumanian guy was right). As far as Ebay is concerned, it was a great way of making money from England away games until everybody realised. Whether people were trying to pretend to their mates that they went I don't know, but we would walk round the ground after games and collect a handful of ticket stubs that were on the floor and then sell them when we got home. When we were "banned" from the Macedonia game I sold about a dozen for between £8 and £20.
