I once played against him whilst on a work exchange visit to Renault in Viry, France. He's terrible and bottled out of every challenge. I say work exchange, it was more like work experience. I say work experience, it was more like a summer job. I say c***, it was more like imbecile. Who mentioned imbeciles? That's a word with French origins, FYI.

Has to start when fit. The guy is the best ball playing midfielder in the league and is a class above anyone in the team. When he came on he hardly gave the ball away, when he did it was trying to slot it through their defence, not passing it across the pitch. He won nearly every tackle he went in for and even challenged well in the air. How many other players can knock a ball 50 yards through the air straigt onto the awaiting players foot? he is the key to unlocking defences if we play around him.

In my opinion, we should play him like we played Le tiss. Build the play down one side of the pitch, drag them over, leave our wide men out on the far chalk and lay it back to Morgan to switch the play and do them from the other side. This is something we have lacked for a very long time and if we utilise it, we can tear teams apart.

With respect Morgan has an awful lot to prove! That's why he's never started consistently for us. I find it odd that you "big" him up but have slaughtered Gillett and Lallana. Why?

I have not slaughtered lallana. He is great unitll he has to cross or shoot, he does neither very well. I can't honestly believe you can't see that morgan is a million times better than gillett. Morgan will play for his country, Gillet won't get near the prem.

Also, he will start consistently.

Schneiderlin is one of the best players we have at the club - possibly the best.

What he is hugely short of is consistency - which totally undermines my first line!

If he needs games out of the first team, or coming on late in the game so be it.

If he plays to his ability he will be a very very good player for us. He is strong, can run with the ball, can tackle and his range of passing is great.

Unfortunately he keeps disappearing -which central midfield player cant.

Looked great against Ajax and again yesterday - not far off man of the match when only on for short period.

He reminds me very much of Anders Svennson. Good touch, vision and passing but dissapeared at times during games and wasn't consistent.

That said Morgan is very young and will only improve as a player, lets hope it's with Saints!

He is very young to move to another country and plays in a hard position for a youngster.

A combo with an older head with some touch and vision, i.e. Hammond (not Wotton), can only help to improve him. Gillett off the bench as support.

This just shows how blinkered some fans can be when it comes to our own players. How can a man who has yet to register a goal or assist for Saints be the best ball playing midfielder in the League. Yes he is one of the best passers in our squad, but I am sure teams like Charlton and Leeds have much better. Ask a fan from any of the other teams in this league who they think the best ball player in L1 is and I doubt you would hear Morgan's name all that often.

Shush Arizona. You can't disagree with Bizzle's opinion. He could have been a contender himself and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the game from having played at the highest level and an Oxbridge degree, so I understand.

He should play but should be the more forward of the two central midfielders. When he plays in the holding role (as he did under the ****wit Poortvliet) he just coasted around in front of the back four and did nothing. He can pick a pass, he can go past people and he can shoot.

By definition, opinions can't be wrong. Opinions can however be different.

Happy to be of assistance.

Side stepping that logic, your opnion is quintessentially wrong.

If 2 people have differing opinions & there is only one right answer, technically, 1 person is right, the other wrong! Many subjects aren't so ambiguous that either opinion may be correct. HTH

FWIW - I think Morgan has shown glimpses of talent but he still has much to prove. Like most of our youth thrown to the lions by Lowe, they need easing in to first team football. Nurtured to gain confidence. Then we can pass better judgement.

Many of the comments on this site recently, like the criticism of Pardew & the demands to throw money at agents, are knee jerk, reactionary, sensationalist nonsense!! People need to relax & have more patience. We have 40 games left this season. We're barely round the first bend. Look at how much rebuilding AP has managed (& a newly set up team) in such a short time.

I'm sure more changes are imminent, both in management/board room & playing (& possibly coaching) staff.

We will get our much deserved win. The tide will change. Our fortunes will improve. Then, maybe, just maybe, our fans will stop moaning, slating everyone involved with our club & actually be grateful & thankful 4 what we have. I know I am. Saturday was frustrating but, to coin a well worn proverb, Rome wasn't built in a day!

Don't know why or how I've stumbled upon this. But interesting to see how much he's come on and how wrong some people were!

this is brilliant rudi. i have now idea why you have so much time on your hands to do this but, as you say, it is interesting to see how some people thought at the time. now if only some on here, no names obviously, would just give some of our current players a bit of slack to fulfill potential.

Interesting read.

Alpine - another one for your standard reply - something about me being smug and easy in hindsight ? ;)

If you start agreeing with me you may start getting your assessments right! ;)

Also interested in whether you think Cork has been a waster just collecting his money this season? As you said Ramirez was & he has input more than Cork this season.

Three young players who you wrote off in their first season as useless - Schneiderlin, Rodriguez and Ramirez. (Think Ramirez is couple years younger that Rodriguez but not checked).

Maybe worth giving third young player a chance as you were so wrong in identifying ability in others?
