CB Fry Posted 7 September, 2009 Posted 7 September, 2009 (edited) CB you and I have discussed this before and I value your judgement on numbers. How many games would we need to win on the trot (given other results) to be around the play off places?? You cheeky scamp! Funnily enough I was thinking of dusting that old one down for this season this morning, but no-one ever gets what I'm on about, which is most of the fun of course. My "we need to win eight in a row" thing was just about how far behind the trendline to promotion we are and viewing the challenge by ignoring the other teams in the league who actually are irrelevent until the final weeks. But no-one ever gets it, probably because barely any of us in our lifetime has seen Saints win promotion from any league* and win the volume of games required. We win two and draw four and we think we're on the greatest run of our lives. Anyway, the answer to your question is 42. Edited 7 September, 2009 by CB Fry *yes I know you were there when we finished second in Div one and the day we signed Kevin Keegan. That day simply was..etc

captainchris Posted 8 September, 2009 Posted 8 September, 2009 Pardew has to stay, long term, however he needs to motivate the players to win matches. Despite the poor performance today, we have the players here to be in at least mid table by the end of the season. The players are well enough paid to play without fear, and when the first win finally happens, I think we may win a few on the bounce. However we have to get that first win as soon as possible now. This is an interesting statement but what evidence is it based on! I see nothing said here to that gives credence to keeping Pardew?
