Not calling for his head .

But Pardew needs to come out and take it on the chin and own up to getting his tactics, formation and subs wrong today.

He f o o ked up and didnt come close to owning up to it in his interview.

We are in massive trouble of relegation. We will lose at Charlton next weekend, so I would give him until 2 games after that to get his first win. If not, unfortunately for him with the way the world works now, its curtains.

I'm confused. From looking at the stats and live text commentary, it seems we dominated parts of the game (an extra man, yes I know) and had ten shots on target but no killer blow. Well, surely then that makes us a team very close to being good? So if that team had three key players hopefully set to play in the next match, shouldn't we wait to see what happens before slating the manager and declaring the season a disaster?

Don't think he did what

get all that wrong.

first substitution was exactly right - and at the right time.

Schneiderlin made a big difference when he came on.

So you're going to give him anohter 3 games and then if things don't get better - sack him. Nice move - that will sort everything out - I can see why you chose that user name now.

Nick i enjoy your posts but have to disagree on this one. We played over 60 ,mins against 10 men and and were better when they have 11. He couldnt reshuffle the pack to get a result.............starting to get worried

Errr no, you didn't, but you have now. Even so - to suggest that he only has another 3 games, after what we have been through in the last couple of years is lunacy.

Much mooted at his introduction was a 5 year plan - not 5 week, 5 games, 5 signings - 5 bloody years. So let's at least give the bloke a chance - eh?

Subs made sense

Mellis was ****e, replaced by Mills who's a natural left-sided player. Lallana who's a right footer switched sides. The decision to do it at half-time rather than wait 20 mins was decisive and spot-on.

Paterson was too lightweight, replaced by Thomson who gave us more width on the right, freeing Lallana to play down the middle. Not a big fan of Thomson but we were desperately narrow on the right in the first half (see Mellis above)

Perry replaced by Schneiderlin. What was the point of playing a flat back four when the opposition was happy to camp in its own half. Schneiderlin came on to bolster the midfield as we switched to 3-5-2 and provide more options with his range of passing.

The booing came over loud and clear, the natives are getting restless and it sounded like the whole ground and not just a few 'impatient/hysterical/unrealistic' fans.

Wether or not fans like it,managers get the boot regurlarly, you can count on one hand the long term managers in all of leagues, managers come and go so it will not be out of the ordinary and nothing to fear.

I will be surprised if pardew lasts until Christmas.

And I agree with yours. Results should be better, and yes it is time for Pardew (and the team) to deliver. That said - we are back to the old knee jerk(s) reaction of 'we have a problem - we are not winning games - sack the manager' - total and utter bollux.

We, of all teams should, by now, have worked out that just because the team is not performing on the field, this is not an excuse to push yet another manager out of the revolving door. We've done this for years - and where has it got us - err nowhere.

So why not go for a much more radical approach, and when the team and the manager are struggling for form, results, whatever - we the fans and the Football Board actually support them, get behind them and back them even more. Just a thought.

Thats not switiching sides ;)

Read my post;) he first switched sides when Mills came on for Mellis and then went down the middle when Thomson came on for Paterson.

Genuinely ,the last thing i want is to sack the manager......foook knows we have had enough of that in the past . That doesn't mean he / they are immune to criticism and today pardew deserves it (IMHO) because he got it wrong

We will win at Charlton next week. Why? Because we are Saints and that is what we do, the unexpected.

But you're expecting us to win now, so surely we'll lose? ;)

Seriously though, I thought Pards was spot-on with his tactics today, and he hit the nail on the head with his post-match interview too.

Spurs have a revolving door for managers and they seem to be doing fine, changing managers often is the norm for the majority so embrace it,we ain't Manu or arsenal,we are not even an everton.......in fact we are just another sh1tty little club in a sh1tty little league just like 99% of the rest of the sh1tty clubs with short term managers,we are no different,we aren't special.

spot on.

the reason we have been siht over the last few seasons is becuse we have a team thats been put together by 2-3 different managers, lets stick with the same manager for 2-3 yrs and let him build a team.

We need a formation that works.

I spotted on the big screen as they was playing back some training ground moves and the aim was to get the ball out to the green bibs who would be whipping in crosses all the time, now the problem is we don't have any decent enough crossers of the ball and plus the only big target we would have in the centre is Lambert.

I think we should be having another option and that is pace.

These guys on the attack often turn and accelerate like Oil tankers.

I watched England tonight and the pace is scary, with that I hope Wiago is our superman otherwise we are ****ed!

When will people learn that you need to give people a certain amount of time - .... and I feel that 9 league games is hardly enough.

Spurs have Arry Redknapp, probably the best English manager in the game today, we had him but were unable to provide the conditions necessary for him to work his 'magic'.It's really as straightforward as that, you don't hire a guy like Harry and then tell him there's only 54p to spend on players and put a complete ***t like Woodward in his trajectory. To get the best out of Harry you have to let him do things his way and just pay the bills and not ask questions.

jury still out on ap and his tactics imo. Needs to find his best eleven and get some continuity. Need lallana thru the middle imo to provide the killer passes rather than poked out on the wing failing to get it over. Yet to be convinced by pardew, or that the warnings from the charlton fans were a tad profetic of our current plight

Nothing to do with giving people time...i am well aware of where we are and who we are right now......... but with the squad we have, against a 10 man COLCHESTER, we should be doing better.

Been a long time since ive been watching football that losing a player has HELPED the team

I wouldn't call Spurs successful - they've massively underachieved - and what did they do they once they tasted a bit of success with Martin Jol but had a sticky spell, sack him and bring in Juande Ramos who put their progress back.

Agree today was pretty dreadful but except for Mellis I reckon most of us would agree that the players AP has brought in are better than those they replaced. We all know as does AP that we've been short of width and pace and today we didn't have players fully fit and available to provide us with either. Thomson needs time if he's going to make it at all and Mills is only young and has been out for over a month. But i felt that the subs AP made were pretty spot on.

There's just one problem IMO in that he hasn't got the team playing yet. One can only hope that in time particularly with one or two more additions, including Papa Waigo, he will. Maybe this is where the jury's out at the moment but surely no-one can argue that we haven't got a better squad than we had 4/5 weeks ago.

how often have we seen teams with a player sent off doing well. Any one even thinking that Pardew should go are absolute fools. Our only chance of progressing is to still have him in 3 years time.

Of course we want to be doing better but we are still getting over the appalling damage Lowe did to our club.

Just keep your heads and look forward to better times round the corner.

Last year i stated at the start of the season that we would probably go down.

Let me now predict that we will be back in the premier league in the next 5 years.

I agree - we are a shytty little club in a shytty little league and we are not different to all the other teams in this league and we definately are not special.

But unfortunately you missed the salient point. The fact remains that we have constantly sacked managers at the drop of a hat and it has not resolved our ongoing problems - so for once eh, just once - let's back this one for a bit eh?

Pardew out. Total joke. Bring in someone else and give hom half a dozen games. If he hasn't won 4 of them then sack him and try again. there just HAS to be a lucky, Midas-touch manager out there.

Who is cheap.

And available.

And willing to work on the basis of 6-games-win-4-or-your-out-mate. Yup sell up the house, take the kids out of school to bung them in another schol down Shirley or wherever. And answer to the semi-literate retards on some web forum who obviously know EXACTLY what to do which is why they aren't football manager (good grief, do you think fergusin, Wenger et al post on here? If people reallty had a clue what to do they would do it, not post on this dross-pot of an opinion forum!)

Well said Gemmel. I note the change in tone of Pas Dieu in the after match interviews. A few weeks back he was telling the players it was time to deliver. Well, Mister Nicolas Cortese, I'd like to hear a similar statement asking Mister Pas Dieu to deliver too.

His tactics and team selections are abominable. His substitutions defy logic. How many players more before we get a win? We are worse off today that the seasons start. 12 points needs to get out of the bottom four and further and further off the top clubs. It's not good enough and when you look to the likes of Bournemouth, Swindon and even Brighton winning today it's a disgrace we could beat a team with 10 men and their Central defender taken off. A full side today and Colchester would have gone home with 3 points.

Stand up and deliver Pas Dieu.

surely its the players that need to deliver? id be interested to see what u would have done differently with only 2 strikers available.

Defence today, solid didnt look like conceding

midfield today, great defending and passing sideways with the occasional good ball

Strikers today, no service. Paterson is not good enough imo. Both Paterson and Ricky played too far apart from each other.

The signs are there, we have a good foundation now and with Papa ad Jedi coming into the team plus saga returning from international duty with holmes and mills fit, we have a good side. It will come.

My biggest concern is that we have the players to pass teams off the park. We don't have the forwards to play hoof ball. It seems that Pardew is happy for us to try and to boot it up to Lambert or Patterson even though the opposition's defenders have won just about everything.

And it's annoying.

again...how exactly did he fook up and what would you have done differently??

subs were spot on, 1st 11 was right imo.

Short of AP actually going on the pitch and scoring for himself there really wasnt anything he did wrong.

I suggest, if you want to aportion blame you look at the players.

I would say staying in the 1st div/prem for 30+ years success wouldn't you?,they got promoted with us back in the 70's and have had 24 managers since promotion, they have won 7 major trophies and been runners up 4 times in various cups all before harry arrived.

We are not a big enough club to afford the luxury of stability that's if stability is not just a myth.
