St Lightjaw Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Can't win em all. 4 points from 18 .... could be worse i suppose
WealdSaint Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 well..........we've not lost at home this season.
funkymojo44 Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 -6  FFS - sounded like the most boring match ever.
gjphilsaint Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Has the club bottomed out yet..is this the lowest (we could have lost i suppose)? Newcomers and injured returning.. the upturn..?
Edmonton Saint Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Same old predicatable Saints. Whenever we have a man sent off we go on to lose, When the opposing team have a man sent off, we don't win. Mentality is all wrong at the club, and this needs to be addressed asap otherwise we will be in a relegation battle again.
obelisk Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 We're heading for a season or more in the 4th division unless something changes soon. I can't believe that we haven't won a single game yet.
Redondo Saint Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Stand by for attendances to drop. Unless you are a die hard fan - why bother?
Red and White Russ Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Well, if we ever get a game postponed, the pools panel will know what the result would have been!
trousers Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 I won the predict a score contest! Hoorah...."every silver lining...."
corky morris Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Very very disapointed. 3 league games at home without a win - not good. Even worse when they have 10 players. I dont want Pardew to go or anything like that & I am not expecting miracles, but 4 points from 18 is not good enough.
Dalek2003 Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Fading away.........fading away............fading awa.......fading aw......fading a...... fading.....fadin.....fadi.......fad.....fa......f...... .
crouchi Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Sounded dreadful on Solent - how long before we win? how long before we create some decent chances? decent movement?? better be ready for Yeovil or I'll want my money back before we kick off!
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Simply not good enough! too narrow for most of the game, and then changed it when time was running out! CRAP!!! :smt078
ToreSF Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Not good enough against 10 men. Pardew is just not getting things right, by the look of it. Disappointed.
.comsaint Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 An hour against 10 men. They lost their big influential captain. We huffed & puffed. 0-0. It's going to be a long, long winter...
saint_stevo Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 at least there will be some new grounds to visit in League 2
badgerx16 Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Can't win em all. 4 points from 18 .... could be worse i suppose Not much, if Brighton hang on we will still be 9 points behind the team immediately above us and 11 from 20th place, so that's 1 point worse off than when we started, and we will be the only team in the division without a win.
gjphilsaint Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 lol the BBC live score couldnt be bothered to finish the report.. lost interest also!
ExSt Peter Saint Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Nothing to inspire any confidence at all. This Papa bloke had better be effing amazing if we're to turn things round.
saintant Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Excuses I don't want to hear. 1) Pardew hasn't been here long, 2) We had no pre-season, 3) The club nearly went out of existence, 4) The ref done it, 5) We were unlucky, 6) We've got better players coming in. Quite simply none of the above can possibly justify zero victories in 6 fixtures in this lowly league. Now we can't even beat a side down to ten men for most of the game. Forget the ten points deduction, even without that we would be sitting proudly second to bottom of the table just ahead of Tranmere on goal difference. Unacceptable!
westofshannonsaint Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 to quote Jeff Stelling "Still looking for first win, edged up to -6 points, not good enough at this stage in the season"
saint_stevo Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Apparently we are not allowed to say how bad we are, some idiot will just close the thread. I thought we were excellent, Happy now?

mulletsaint Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Must admit while we are behind in preparation due to the takeover dragging on, we really haven't got the time to ease in to this league. We are now in a worse position than we were at the start of the season, 11pts from safety. The longer we go without a win the harder it'll be to get one, this is always the case and this is compounded by the fact that we started so far behind the other teams. Games like today's are exactly the type we need to win if we are to avoid relegation again. Next match up and it's Charlton. After watching their match earlier on Sky I don't hold out much hope that we'll have reduced the deficit any more after that match.
Ewell Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 I am saddened to say we got what I predicted on the pre match thread. After watching Charlton today then I cannot see anything other than a defeat next week at the Valley. All our hopes seem to be rested on a player that Alan Pardew and the fans have not seen play yet. What a sad state of affairs that is. On the positive we seem to be creating chances which is a very good thing. If we were not creating then I think Pardew would be more concerned. We just need players to start taking the opportunities and I feel we will start to win matches. Come on Saints we have to start to improve and pick up points as this is already becoming a grave situation!
saint_stevo Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Wonder when the 'Positivity Police' will be along?

.comsaint Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Cheer up everyone. Charlton away next weekend! It's not like they're doing well...(*checks league table)...oh - hang on...
saint_mears Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 A load of old gash and Pardew was looking at zero points after six games !
saint_stevo Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 wonder how many charlton will get next week
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Same old ****e! FFS when are these so called wonderful young players going to find their level? League 2? BSP? I've forgotten what it feels like to experience the team I support winning a game.
saint_stevo Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 agreed, we should be able to get enough points that would take us to top 4 in this league with the players we have, then think about the -10 But i cant see it
saint_stevo Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Can I just check, of all the 173 times there have been comments about a form team thrashing us in the next game, how many times has it actually happened? In my memory, we always perform a bit better and draw or lose those games marginally. It's the games you think we might have a chance in that we turn in the woeful performances and lose by 4 or 5. I bet Charlton don't win by more than 1 goal. Wouldn't be surprised to see another draw either. Better hope Waigo is f*cking good then
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Sounded desperately poor - especially against 10 men. Need width yet we leave out a fit again Holmes? Getting a little concerned whether Pardew is able to shape a winning team - 12 games without a win at Charlton (I think?) and now 6 more here. Not panicking but concern levels rising given our points handicap start...
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 The -10 is still buying a lot of people a lot of excuses. Just forget it. This is league 1. The minimum expectation should be playoffs, so we should make that and then if the -10 puts us mid-table, so be it. But to not even get near it pathetic. To be second bottom in real terms as we are now is disgraceful. Not because of Pardew, but all these players who claim huge wages for this league, supposedly think they're good enough for higher levels, yet they can't beat absolute rubbish in this league. We need a midfield and we need Saga, that's clear. That means half our team weren't there today. Mills is a must. Papa Waigo will be too IMO, on the right. Which leaves Hammond and Morgan central, as I don't see James adding enough creativity, he should be back up for Hammond. Where does that leave Lallana, I don't know. Up front hopefully, competing with Lambert and Saga. Wise words. Mills is a must. Will have to see what Waigo has to offer. I'm not holding me breath. It would just be nice to see us score some goals and actually win a game.

He has the talent, so let's play him in a natural position for him to actually have the ability to influence and control games. He must be fed up being played out of position week after week.
hackedoff Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Can we organize a game against some non-league team just so we can win,how about Eastleigh or Totton , then again.......
gmc Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Why remove a striker after 60 minutes and replace him with a midfielder if you're playing against 10 at home? Seems like a bizarre decision from my coucho potato position. Could anyone clarify?

DrunkenSaint Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 like ive said and many more this season already....WE NEED WIDTH. Playing lallana shouldnt be an option when he dont fit in, mills is miles better on the left. Papa could play on the right and saga upfront?
Micky Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 So, still firmly on track for a top two finish with the play-offs as a saftey net then - looking good, looking good. Just as an aside, don't we need to get some points to finish in the top two..?
saint_stevo Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 He might well be, he's better than what we have been playing, but I think Mills is more important right now, having seen him pre-season and for S****horpe. I agree, they both have some PACE, something seriously lacking throughout the team fingers crossed
DG Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 No surprises there then. I wonder if we will make it out of the bottom 4 this season.
