Never started one of these, so hopefully the MODS will oblige and sticky it?

Anyhow, really, really need to see a Saints win today and a convincing one too. Our time surely must be right now for a big push out of the negative pts zone and upwards. All the components are in place! Hope for a noisy and fun atmos from all stands today too - the team needs every minute of our support even if things are not looking rosy.

Come on you Saints!!!!

PS: contrary to previous reports, Papa Waigo will not be playing but will be revealed to the crowd 10 minutes before KO today.

I cant see it today. Saga away, leaves Lambo and Pato un front. Two new boys cant play. And with Murty out its a big miss for us. However dont think they will beat us.

So 1-1. Bore draw, nothing to see here. We will win next week though.

If it wasn't for the swine flu today would have been my first game of the season...come on Saints, make me feel really miserable for missing it by winning well

Davis

Thomas Trotman Perry Harding

Lallana James Hammond Mills

Paterson Lambart

Subs: Bialkowski, Holmes, Wotton, Schneiderlin, Gillet, Lancashire, Thomson

Even if the two new guys aren't playing I'm predicting a scruffy 1-0 win to kickstart the season.

Lambert deflected goal, they'll have one (maybe two disallowed) and we will ride our luck. 18,345.

Then we'll be on a roll!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what i'm hoping to see. Although I think Jamie White will be on the bench rather than Gillet/Holmes.

Twas longer than 2 weeks dear.

didnt actually lose any time - Wotte took the 1st 2 weeks then AP took over and carried on.

the 'we missed pre-season' excuse is bollix just as 'we were in admin 2 months ago'

what is funny..is that I predict a win most weeks whilst many others dont...yet somehow, I am negative...lol

Happy clappers call you negative because you dont make up lame excuses for poor performances and/or results. if we lose then you ask why, while the happy clappers are happy to lean on 'we were in admin'

either way...we have played plenty of games for the "no pre-season" excuse not to be used....

colchester have been in trouble lately...again, no win today = no excuse..

I think Colchester will expect a defeat today - Col's team is in poor form, lost manager, lost players & fans are angry at chairmans ambition.....

like you say anything other than a win today must be seen as unacceptable.

if we dont win...just watch the excuses come rolling out on here..there cannot be any what so ever

i'd be amazed if anyone can still make excuses - however the ambition of some on here is criminal and no doubt some will regurgitate the "admin" and "pre-season" or "it takes time" bullcrap.

One of my favourites after a defeat is "we looked better today - someone will get a real beating soon"

funny..that if we were on colchesters position today and lost..we would use the upheaval they have had and a proper prime excuse...players lost, managers first game, no ambition by the chairman..

sorry, a win today is the bare minimum...ffs, we bought their captain

That's not really an answer though is it? Surely no one decided we'd not win for 5 games just for a laugh....so something must be wrong. What is it?

who knows...that is why we pay people like pardew a fortune....

So you think he's doing something wrong but don't know what? Great, that's helpful....

what...did not realise I had to pin point the exact the problem...maybe, stop playing lallana wide..?

Fitness?

Training?

Preperation?

Players?

Desire?

Manager?

Fans?

Mentality?

Set-up?

Strengh?

Pace?

Skill?

combination of 2 or 3 of above imo

Problem is other teams in L1 will also be weak in 2 or 3 (maybe more) of above - we just need to exploit weaknesses much like teams do to us.

On paper we are one of the best teams in L1 - its time to start producing to our best on the pitch.

He would if we had better options. Mills is back now, so Lallana will be on the right again.

I'd go for:-

Davis

Thomas Trotman Perry Harding

Mellis James Hammond Mills

Lallana

Lambert

If you start with Pato & Lambo upfront, you leave yourself with d*ck all attacking options if you want to change things up front. (Or if you get an injury)

That has no logic! :D

If you want to change things or have an injury whilst playing Paterson and Lambert upfront you could change it to the line up you suggested.

Morgan isn't in the squad for the France under 21 game against Slovakia this afternoon so i suppose he could be on the bench for the Colchester and give us another option if we need to change the game.
