RedAndWhite91 Posted 5 September, 2009 Author Posted 5 September, 2009 what time is the draw I think it is made on Soccer AM, so it must be some time this morning. http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/JPTDraws/
sentry Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Home wo hoo! THis is a compo that we should be trying to get far in imo.
JustMike Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 just watched it on soccer am. Helen wasnt too pleased with it :-)
RedAndWhite91 Posted 5 September, 2009 Author Posted 5 September, 2009 Should be a win then - I'll change the title of the thread...
stevegrant Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Poke will be ineligible. Quite happy with that draw, the game will almost certainly be on Tuesday 6th October. My birthday
VectisSaint Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Poke will be ineligible. Quite happy with that draw, the game will almost certainly be on Tuesday 6th October. My birthday If so then Bevan will play instead. Might actually come down for this, gives me a chance to see Torquay, they have always been my "second team" but have never actually seen them play live.
JibMcdo Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 As a Torquay fan (Saints are my family's team but I take a keen interest) that is a dream draw!!!
Saint Samuel Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Good enough for me, home draw means we don't have to spend anything on travel and have a better chance of progressing.
Thedelldays Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 As a Torquay fan (Saints are my family's team but I take a keen interest) that is a dream draw!!! why..?
TopGun Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 I wanted to draw a big team like Man Utd or Liverpool!
Neil Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Good draw. Home and £5, big crowd and progress to the next round. Wembley here we come...
hamster Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 I wanted to draw a big team like Man Utd or Liverpool! What, and have those dastardly plastic fans texting me fo tickets like last time? No thank you. I hope we get lower league opposition all the way to the final, then maybe a biggie like Huddersfield at Wembley for a real showpiece.

greg_hill Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Who cares? It's a stupid, pointless competition. Play Forecast, Wotton, Pulis and the rest and give them a chance to prove themselves.
St Chalet Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 Who cares? It's a stupid, pointless competition. Play Forecast, Wotton, Pulis and the rest and give them a chance to prove themselves. ZDS Cup Final - If you were there I am surprised you made this statement.
JibMcdo Posted 5 September, 2009 Posted 5 September, 2009 As a Torquay fan (Saints are my family's team but I take a keen interest) that is a dream draw!!!why..? Umm, isn't it obvious? My Father and my Brother support Southampton (a pretty big team) and I'm a Torquay fan (a small team) - drawing them at St.Marys will be a great match to watch for the family and I'm really looking forward to it - a great draw. Do you not have friends and family who support other teams?

krissyboy31 Posted 10 September, 2009 Posted 10 September, 2009 According to the Torquay OS the match kicks off at 7.00pm!! Not sure if the away pricing policy is the same as ours. Nothing on our OS on ticketing! http://www.torquayunited.com/page/News/0,,10445~1793294,00.html Correction. It says pricing the same for both clubs on the Torquay site.
krissyboy31 Posted 10 September, 2009 Posted 10 September, 2009 Now on OS!! http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/TicketNews/0,,10280~1793147,00.html
alehouseboys Posted 10 September, 2009 Posted 10 September, 2009 Wow...£15 for non-ST holders on-the-night...for this competition! Not much of a walk-up then - probably not much of an attendance either.
Neil Posted 10 September, 2009 Posted 10 September, 2009 Ok, which idiots emailed Saints to tell them that £10 was acceptable?
rocknrollman no2 Posted 10 September, 2009 Posted 10 September, 2009 I think £5 per ticket wouldve been a sensible price for this stage of the competition. At least that price might have encouraged more to turn up.
Hedgehog Posted 10 September, 2009 Posted 10 September, 2009 Pricing not too good, but more so time of kick off will be a problem. Getting home from work and making a 7pm kick off will probablly mean i wont make it, the extra 30/45 mins makes all the difference for people finishing work gone 5pm

Truesaint Posted 11 September, 2009 Posted 11 September, 2009 7pm kick off IMO is better when travelling over from the island. Bit of a rush to get there (will have to go straight from work), but travelling back at least means not having to wait over an hour for the last ferry! I hate that, even more depressing standing there for an hour, in the cold after a defeat, as is quite usual!

I hate that, even more depressing standing there for an hour, in the cold after a defeat, as is quite usual! The club's motive is presumably to make it easier/more suitable for young kids to go. I can't see any other reason for the change apart from an assumption by Saints that it'll be a young kids' night out rather than a normal crowd. Otherwise they'd move all evening games to 7. K.
fareham saint phil Posted 11 September, 2009 Posted 11 September, 2009 The club gave it large with the "you set the price" but they probally had it fixed anyway, the pricing for a match that alot of fans see as pointless is excessive, just look at the attendance for the game v a prem club in the league cup. If it had been as some had thought. ie 10 for a family then with the kickoff time we may have seen a good crowd, as it is now i cant see anything near a quarter full, i think they missed a trick here. Do we have to agree the prices with torquay before hand as with other cup competitions
krissyboy31 Posted 11 September, 2009 Posted 11 September, 2009 I think they've shot themselves in the foot with the £15 walk-up charge. Many people decide on the spur of the moment whether to go to these sort of games but can't see many doing that at £15 a ticket.
hamster Posted 11 September, 2009 Posted 11 September, 2009 How much for Season Ticket holders? Prebooked Season ticket holders Adult £7.50 Season ticket holders seniors/young adults (17-21yrs) £ 3 Non Season ticket holders Adult £10 Non Season ticket holder seniors/Young adults £5 Under 16's free (only before Matchday) Matchday Sales Adults £15 non season ticket holders Adults on proof of season ticket £7.50 Seniors/YG non season ticket holders £5 Seniors/YG on proof of season ticket £3 Under16's £2 on day of game Not that bad really, and a much better KO time imo Have they said which stands are open for this one yet?

Neil Posted 13 September, 2009 Posted 13 September, 2009 Having seen Charlton today (in theory one of the best teams in the JPT), I'm thinking that 12/1 is a reasonable value punt for Saints to win the JPT.
sotonjoe Posted 13 September, 2009 Posted 13 September, 2009 Hang on ... didn't they suggest £5 per adult at the time of asking for fan suggestions? Does this mean fan power raised the ticket prices? Confused and unimpressed at Saints wanting £15 on the night to see some tin pot encounter.I predict the attendance will be 8-9K
