Saint Fan CaM Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 Radio Solent news have said that Papa's permit has come through in time for him to be included in the squad (Jaidi's has not) AND both Mills and Holmes are both fit to play if needed. Anyone else heard that?! If true, this has to be a massive boost for AP and the team.

Wow - we may be able to play with width! if that's the case....Mills on the left, Papa on the right - Adam behind lambo (as saga is away) AP...do it!
Um Bongo Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 Davis Thomas Perry Trodman Harding Holmes James Hammond Mills Lallana Lambert Would keep Papa on the bench, to come on and score a last minute winner sparking wild celebrations.

Mmm, I like the thought, but starting with two players fresh from injury might be a bit risky???
Deanovski Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 Davis Thomas Perry Trotman Harding James Hammond papa Lallana mills/holmes(who ever is fitter) Lambert
Saint_Mabes Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 Holmes is a left winger so I see no point putting him on the right. I assume he is lacking match fitness so would leave him out of this one, Mills on the other hand should be ok as he played not so long ago. Mellis or preferably Papa Shango on the right for me but apart from that I agree.

You've obviously not been keeping up with the plot have you, the only thing that happens last minute in a saints game is we concede... not score.
NorthamSteve Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 I'd leave Holmes out, he's been crocked for ages! Smurf should start tho! I'm excited!
Saint Charlie Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 (edited) Would be a big lift if Papa was even just on the bench. Shame Jaidi's permit hasn't come through though! --------------------------------------------------------- Saints twitter says Jaidi permit is 7-10 days away (so hopefully in time for Charlton away). Papa is a possibility for Saturday but will be touch and go. Edited 3 September, 2009 by Saint Charlie
St.Patrik Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 I hope there is no problems with his permit....
JustMike Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 they both have until 12 tomorrow dont they?

S-Clarke Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 Club have just updated twitter...they're not so sure on Papa yet. (Although may have changed in the last hour) Jaidi's work permit is probably 7 - 10 days away. Papa Waigo is a possibility for Saturday but touch and go. #saintsfc
LaptopSaint Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 If Papa has a permit he has to play. Already a legend.* *disclaimer: he may be ****, but we hope not.

Crab Lungs Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 Awesome! Get Lee Holmes in there straight away. Top, top player with bags of potential.
ART Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 Jaidi's signing was announced on Tuesday to appease the masses who would have been up in arms had we not signed anyone. It was always going to take another 3 weeks to have him playing. Please recall that we didn't know anything about Papa Waigo till Wednesday, neither did the club, hence the panic of announcing the Jaidi deal. This is the Holy month of Ramadan and Jaidi's permit will surely not appear till it's all over. But what do I know in the face of such higher intelligence of the SCITK's?

Andy_Porter Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 We shouldn't be playing playing 4-5-1 at home against a side like Colchester. Davis Thomas Trotman Perry Harding Lallana Hammond Morgan Mills N'Daiye Lambert

Holmes and Fish are both left footers, so one will cut in rather than cross, and we will have sacrificed width again. Let both of them play on the left, one to start the other to finish.
S-Clarke Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 (edited) Just listened to Pard's on Saints player.... 'pretty much confirmed the OP's post. Papa should be available for sat. and Holmes and Mills are both fully fit and pushing for a place. also made me laugh that Pard's commented that he's sure saints fans had been checking out Papa's dancing on youtubue doesn't sound like he personally knows Papa or how he plays - but he did say that one thing he knows is that he offers genuine pace - and we've lacked that. Said he's come highly recommended and has been told that he could be an unexpected bonus for us. Edited 3 September, 2009 by S-Clarke

kpturner Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 (edited) He'll (Papa) probably come on late in the game - and I have this dread of seeing Ali Dia the Second. Sincerely hope I am wrong. Edited 3 September, 2009 by kpturner Clarified who I meant
benjii Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 There is absolutely no way that Lee Holmes should start the match. He was rushed back last season and he just ended up crocked again. Would be stupid to play him from the start IMO.

Same cannot be said of Ali Dia who fabricated his past.

lettuce Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 I'd imagine the starting line-up can't be decided until all the Papa-work has come through? :toimonster: That's not my coat.

Trouble is, we've been saying that for sometime now about lots of teams haven't we?! It will be no different this weekend - a tough, tough game. We need to score early and convincingly (i.e. not off someones bum) to really stamp a mark. Just hope the midfield is up to the task and there's not too much hoof - that'll make a good game.

Would be a bonus if he can find the net regularly, but it's equally important that the threat of his pace keeps the opposition defenders deeper in their half, giving Lambert more space to play in, so we should see just how deadly he really is.

Silly me, I thought that it was the Borders and Imigration authority here in the UK. Of course, it could be that the Civil Service has been infiltrated by large numbers of Muslims as part of some PC initiative, but otherwise the permit should not take long. However, nobody has explained to me why Jaidi hasn't applied for an Indefinite Leave to remain instead, as he has been here over 5 years as I understand it.
