SamKimish Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Is anyone else excited at the prospect of him scoring 30+ goals, firing us up the table, prompting Saints fans all dressing as Papa Smurf in dedication to him on our usual fancy dress game? (morrocan fez's, ginger wigs etc.) No? ... Just me then
saint_stevo Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 hum de da da de de da Papa Waigo eeeeehhhhhh Papa Wago
Thedelldays Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 wonder why he came to a L1 club? strange if has he been in and around the 1st team of a club in teh champions league
St Will Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Two under par not to be sniffed at though. Well Done. ;-) I'm happy that I missed a 2 foot putt on the 4th hole of the second round which cost me £225.....very pleased! I don't think I could have played any worse to be fair. Just got it round. Seriously, how did you find out what I was playing in?!
.comsaint Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 wonder why he came to a L1 club? He didn't come to "a League 1 club". He's come to the MIGHTY Southampton FC!
St Will Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Jamega Tour? lol yes! how are you both finding out about this info, I was trying to remain anonymous!
offix Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 The team is finally beginning to look like AP's team. Quite a different look from last season. Let's hope AP can make it work. All we need to achieve this season is survival, preferably mid-table.

Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Wow, the Positivity Filter aint working properly then. Lets all kiss and make up, this is a very good signing!
Albie79 Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 A google search shows Osasuna and Real Mallorca were interested in him last month? And he comes to League One? Brilliant bit of convicing done by someone I think!
saint_stevo Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 lol yes! how are you both finding out about this info, I was trying to remain anonymous! Foxy
kpturner Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 lol yes! how are you both finding out about this info, I was trying to remain anonymous! You can't give out all those clues in previous posts and hope that the Googlers wouldn't find out. The naivety of youth :-)
saint_stevo Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 strange if has he been in and around the 1st team of a club in teh champions league my thoughts exactly, maybe someone called in a favour smells a bit like a Ronnie Ekelund kinda deal!
St Will Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 It was not difficult....especially as I beat you by one shot. No you didn't! Not if you're really called kevin peter turner anyway
Deanovski Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 i wanan know how much the fee is for the option to buy
Thedelldays Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 my thoughts exactly, maybe someone called in a favour smells a bit like a Ronnie Ekelund kinda deal! this could be a real coup...im sure we will see in a few weeks... soon there will be no way anyone can make excuses for this team the way it is going
chrisobee Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Well, what a surprise to see Pardew was aware of the obvious and that we needed some pace in the team. This from a friend of mine who follows Italian football very closely: " I'm very surprised he has joined a League 1 club but your fans will love him. Can play right side as a winger or striker and has great pace......... he'll scare the hell out of League 1 defenders, a real coup for Saints and Pardew." That'll do nicely for me.
kpturner Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 No you didn't! Not if you're really called kevin peter turner anyway Close - but no cigar.
saint_stevo Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 No you didn't! Not if you're really called kevin peter turner anyway Can't believe you missed the Players club. Decent track, bit short mind....
St Will Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Close - but no cigar. Everyone on that tour talks with a very silly midlands accent, with the occasional ****ney or west country accent thrown in for good measure. So I know you're telling fibs!
saint_stevo Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 this could be a real coup...im sure we will see in a few weeks... soon there will be no way anyone can make excuses for this team the way it is going I agree Looking a bit more solid, and our bench is starting to look better as well, which in a long season such as this one is ideal. Maybe a RB in on an emergency loan?
hackedoff Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Trust me, it will come. He doesn't seem to have played much but his goalscoring record doesn't seem to shabby, and at Serie A he must have something about him. Sounds familiar, has he got a cousin that we can sign as well ?
St Will Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Can't believe you missed the Players club. Decent track, bit short mind.... I only started playing again from Donnington Grove, I took 3 months off. The Players Club is very long, but it's ok as long it isn't blowing a gale, which is never to be fair.
kpturner Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Everyone on that tour talks with a very silly midlands accent, with the occasional ****ney or west country accent thrown in for good measure. So I know you're telling fibs!I know my prose is of an excellent standard, but it has never been good enough to give my accent away. See you at Studley Wood and we can go through that chipping tip again.

kpturner Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 stfu about golf Could have an argument instead if you like. I don't know enough about Papa Bouba Diop to comment sensibly on this thread - and I don't play FM 2008 so I can't judge his ability at corners.
St Will Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 You missed a 2 footer for bogey, that must have hurt. Especially after I'd got to 4 under on the 2nd, then made a stupid bogey on 3. Yep, I wasn't happy. Then when I made 5 on a par 5 straight down wind (was a driver and a wedge), I was really p1ssed. Just had to hang in there after that.
kpturner Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 hmm, slightly scared now, mad stalker man.Concentrate on the shot, and never look behind you..........
St Will Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Concentrate on the shot, and never look behind you.......... Golf's hard enough for me right now as it is!!
kpturner Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Then when I made 5 on a par 5 straight down wind (was a driver and a wedge), I was really p1ssed. I went with a wedge then a driver....but not deliberately.
St Will Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 I went with a wedge then a driver....but not deliberately. It's easy to do....
St Will Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 People aren't going to be happy when they're trying to read all about Papa Waigo and they get my tournament reports are they!

Played at Brawshaw at the weekend, eagled the par 5 7th, 3 wood, 6 iron to green. Was well happy with that. Of course, I slumped round the rest of the course courtesy of my slightly closed stance...
niceandfriendly Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 People aren't going to be happy when they're trying to read all about Papa Waigo and they get my tournament reports are they! More likely they'll just be bored.

Of course, I slumped round the rest of the course courtesy of my slightly closed stance... Good job! As long as you have a highlight and something good to come off with, it's all good. I don't think there was one thing I walked off the 36th hole thinking I'd done well. Apart from a Seve-esque shot out of a ditch full of mud. It required all my waterproofs and I got covered in mud, but I did chop it out to 4 feet I missed the putt mind.....

You coulda made it with two wedges.....or were you on the Forest?
St Will Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 More likely they'll just be bored. No. STFU. Sorry, I'll say no more. I have 2 springer spaniels asking for a walk anyway. Welcome Papa Waigo.
Causer Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 People aren't going to be happy when they're trying to read all about Papa Waigo and they get my tournament reports are they! Most threads on this board soon go off topic. Take the takeover threads as a prime example, personally I think this is a quite interesting de tour from the topic.

DT Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 This golf talk is just so exciting and relevant. Well done chaps.

saint peach Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Cannot believe this signing. Easily the best signing I can remember for a League One side. This guy is top notch. I saw him a few times when over in Italy last year and he impressed when at the top level. Good work, Pards.
