Am sure he can handle L1 -half Senegal's team - Sonko, Henri Camara, Diagne-Faye, Diao- play for rough-and-tumble Stoke (maybe he got us confused with them). And there's also the skate-spitter lege El Hadji Diouf. All can mix it up...

According to Football Manager 2009, he's bloody quick and is a natural right winger, who can also be played on the left.

You might need to zoom in on the ol' screeny :D

And before you lambast me for relying on Football Manager to judge how good a player is, the chief scout of Chelsea has admitted to using the database to find young talent and check attributes of some players. So MEH.

Well fans of other clubs when they talk about signing a Saints player based on FM are basically using my opinion of the Saints players. So depends if you agree with me on how good Saints players are. :D

Papa waigo, is a great signing for you!

I have seen this guy play many times as i follow fiorentina a few times a year. He plays like kanu, and can strike a play very clean, at times he may be lazy for league 1 football, but is a cultured footballer....having said that hes also played full back for fiorentina on a few occasions, one been against barca in a friendly last year.

Wish we (SWFC) had signed him to be honest, as im sure he will easily cut it in your league and ours. After all hes played for a very good fiorentina side, and never looked out of place, his only problem is hes down the pecking order against 3 class forwards!

Good luck on your come back guys, we always have a good trip to the saints when ever we play you!

Can we adapt the old Viera song for him?

Are Senegal in the African Cup of Nations next year? If so he will be gone for most of January....

You mean we have a player good enough to actually be in that competition!? Schweeeeeeet

No guarantee that he'll settle or adapt to League One football, but if it does work out he could just be what the teams crying out for.

No matter how successful his Saints career turns out to be you know he'll score at least one absolutely stonking goal, followed by an ace celebration involving back flips and/or dancing by the cornerflag. Bring it on.

I suspect what scouts do is a brief search for good players who they then scout over two or three games do form there own opinion, rather than bidding for a player just based on your recommendation

Still preaching?

Careful, SS. He's (StWill) being 'positive' again and not at all taking every opportunity to get his little point across in an oh so happy and carefree manner which is not at all bearing a grudge. Oh no. Certainly not.

Pompous a*se

When I saw you'd posted on this thread, I thought you'd come on to say something nice and something positive about how we've bought a new player.

Oh no, how silly of me, to even think you'd ever do such a thing!

No mention of a work permit on the OS so I assume he has an Italian passport and we won't have to bother about such things, he has lived there 10 years so it seems likely.

Potentially a quality signing and should definately offer the pace we've all been craving.

Very pleased to see this signing now i wonder if he could persuade his mate Henri to come down here for a season or two.......... would be company and imo attractive to an unattached Camara no?

I'm assuming from alan pardew's comment above that our previously non-existent scouting system haven't actually seen him play yet? but that he came highly recommended by some money grabbing agents??

Sorry go read it again...especially this bit:

The deal is still subject to the completion of any work permit formalities.

How do I say this politely.....he's a different colour.

Edit: he has a different skin tone!

And? I have a setting on my camera that does that....I rather suspect the two photos may have been taken with different cameras...and in different lighting conditions....just a hunch...;)

That said, I doubt whether Pards would try and entice a Serie-A player to Southampton by dragging him along to Farnborough's ground!

I can't argue with either of those points ;)

He's been permitted to ply his trade in Italy, so I cant see there being an issue.
