Papa Waigo N'Diaye on loan

We might end up with our fans having a relationship like the one we did with Wright-Phillips (in the early days, pre-thievery), where his personality and enthusiasm outweigh his talent, yet he remains popular. However, lets wait to see him in action, eh?

Waigo can't be that bad if he's at Fiorentina and plays for his national side.

You haven't read the Jaidi article as the second half of it on the BBC website is all about Papa Waigo.

Ah, Ok...I don't recall Waigo being on the original BBC article about Jaidi. Perhaps they re-jigged the article over time.

Oh well, another Trousers theory down the pan...

Like it!! A slight adaptation and change 'Daylight' to [insert opposition side here]' and sing after he scores against them

e.g.

Waigo!

Wa-ai-i-go

Pompey come and they wanna go home...

Why the pompey reference?!? Whats that got to do with Papa??

I wonder who our contact at Fiorentina is then?

"Amongst us, we obviously have contacts at various clubs, and we've used that knowledge to assist us more than anything else so far. We have a personal connection at Fiorentina, which helped, so we're lucky to have him, but we'll only be lucky if he's a success.

I tend to agree.

I thought it was notable that the national press, that I've seen, reported Jaidi's signing (albeit briefly) but have, as yet, made no mention of this Waigo chap who, in theory, is a more high profile signing.

For instance, Jaidi got a one pager on the BBC's Saints site....Waigo? Not a dickie bird

Without wishing to p1ss on bonfires, something tells me that "the meeja" know more about him than we do....

My money's on the media knowing less than we do, hence the lack of coverage. Jaidi's got a ready-made file of English footballing experience they can look up, Waigo ? Too much effort, mate.

Anyone actually seen him in a Saints strip yet? I bet we get this truly terrible player, a la Ali Dia, instead of the real deal. From what I've read on here and seen of him, he appears to be far too good for League One.

Well apparently Galatasaray were interested in him only a couple weeks ago. So I’m sure he is to good for League One :)… I hope.

Yeah, I know it is unlikely. However would be sad if it was the case and missed out on him for that reason after a good loan spell. I just think its strange that he'd be willing to play for 2 years in the 3rd tier.

You mean the highest paid player in the football league? Money talks. ;)

who knows!

Tripled wages of Bristol's highest paid player

Sol Campbell?

Completely different cases.

Sol is past his peak and achieved football wise all that he will do and was out for one last big payday. England and Premiership his has been there got the t-shirt.

Papa Waigo is 25 and coming into his prime with the best years of his career ahead of him. At his age he will still want to achieve things in his best years and get into the Senegal squad for big competitions. Hopefully Saints will be back in the Premiership in 4 years but will be a long time for Papa to wait.
