I have a feeling that we will know more if certain players arrive on loan next week - that will tell us probably who they wanted to sign permanently.

 

Not that we'll find out why it didn't happen - the rumour on here yesterday about Saga to Leicester w/Gradel in exchange, and it not happening because of Notts County's supposed interest gives us a clue what can happen (true or not).

 

Watching SSN yesterday and them creaming themselves over Redkrapp's plans made me cringe - they really do think he's wonderful.

 

Nice to hear that Levy vetoed the signing of James though - I guess Harry now realises who his boss is (I reckon he'll be gone by the end of the season again)..

No but the fact he said he wanted 3 players and by the end of the day had none i think left more than a few saying wtf? Yes i do know we signed Jaidi and i think its a great signing.

Perhaps because we go on about our rich owner so much, teams and players now think they can demand a king's ransom for joining.

 

Then there's the Lescott Effect - seeing as he's probably worth £5m max and got sold for £22m, every club up and down the land now think their players are worth 3x their true worth.

 

Now, if we were in for a player in the CCC, who was really worth £500k, and then the club selling wanted £1.5m...you can see how deals can collapse.

 

There are benefits though, by now Pulis must be worth at least a tenner.... ;-)

Look, despite you thinking this is a forum to discuss Saints, you are displaying tendencies to the negative. In fact, as you have not included a positive statement of some kind it is clear that you are not getting with the new program of postiviness. Please correct this or... we'll call you a nasty name.

 

In the meantime, be thankful that we've signed Jaidi (forget the fact he can't playa game yet) and say nothing more until Saturday at 5.00pm. If we do not win, then and only then, can you post negative thoughts because its then all the 'postive thinkers' get dispensation from a higher authority to get negative for a couple of hours.

i dont want to know everything, i do not want to know what toilet paper they use in the staff toilet, i dont want to know what brand nail clippers AP has in his desk draw.

They told us we would sign some players, we didnt so we should, thats the stupid feckin reply ive seen.

To be honest there could be a million and one reasons why they didn't happen and we'll probably never know and with all due respect starting a thread won't get the answer either. I think we just have to accept they are working on things frantically behind the scenes. AP knows where we are weak and has stated he will address those areas. To repeat the scratched record I'm sure we'll see activity during the emergency loan window when it opens shortly.

That's it ... I would have had no problem with NIL signings .... had it not been The Club that indicated arrivals.... THEY raised the expectation level, not us on here

 

They should have kept quiet until the deals were done ... the fact that they wern't, ( for whatever the reason(s) ) leaves them looking rather daft IMHO ... completely against their previous policy

Mind you, it is quite funny if you think about it

 

Pardew gets the Team playing, we start on up the League .... then just as we reach a Play Off positions, all the Loan deals come to an end ..... and we lose half the Team ...:D

Look at our squad compared to other League 1 teams and once we get a settled unit we should be very capable of promotion. There comes a time when you've signed enough players and its down to what happens on the pitch tbf.

Mellis and Trottman hardly constitute half the team and both of them play in positions where we have cover. They are the only ones on a half season loan, the new guy is here until May. Let's hope AP does get the team playing though, then perhaps, if Trottman and Mellis have proved integral to our success we can persuade them and their clubs to extend their loans.

Both Trotman and Mellis have both stated that if things go well they are more than happy to extend their loans, so if they really do become as integral as you think SR then we will just keep them till the end of the season.

looking at the possability of loan signings and view to a pernament move etc

 

say we did get promoted this year would these player be any good for the ccc in away i can see a bit of a plan coming along

What about the thought that we may be getting loans in as players who had expected a dream move has not materialised and will now be more likely to consider coming to us on loan.I think we may get at least 1 more loan in.

Wonder if they are still waiting for confirmation of the 3rd one?

 

Unlikely but you never know! I'm just happy that we have signed 2 very good players to add to the 6 already brought in.

damn,ill give AP a ring in a mo to let him know.

 

I rang up AP and told him what I thought, and who we should sign.

 

He then rang me back and told me to put the concrete barriers in first in the central reserve, then put in the slot drain and the cross overs.

 

It then occured to both of us that, even though we know what each other does, we are hopeless when it comes to doing the others job, we are just hopeless.

 

So i bid him adeiu and hung up before we had a Brokeback Mountain moment.

 

Moral of the story? You just have to trust him in what he is doing, as we don't know what the underlying reasons or constraints there are. We just see the tip of the iceburg
