saint_stevo Posted 2 September, 2009 Author Posted 2 September, 2009 New manager syndrome for Saturday then...
chrisobee Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Haha, of course we must be destined to lose now !
skintsaint Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 New manager syndrome for Saturday then... Never works for us IIRC
brightspark Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Never works for us IIRC We, as ever, are the exception to the rule!!! From a 1-1 draw prediction it goes to a 1-3, just because its obvious.... there is no scientific explanation to it, but first games for managers always produces results.

I have changed mine also from a 2-0 Saints victory to a 4-0 saints victory lol
rick1976.4.38 Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 had us for 2-0 win, boothroyd taking them over is a downer but coyr ill stick with 2-0

saint_stevo Posted 2 September, 2009 Author Posted 2 September, 2009 Never works for us, does it ? Not once as far as i recall!
Toadhall Saint Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Sheep numbers down in Lanarkshire for 3rd year running http://www.hamiltonadvertiser.co.uk/news/local-news/ Trousers you make me laugh - you must spend so much time on tinternet.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 That is a good appointment for them - I expect us to get beaten.
Lets B Avenue Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Sheep numbers down in Lanarkshire for 3rd year running http://www.hamiltonadvertiser.co.uk/news/local-news/ I'm more gutted about the snack van outside the station. No more lamb burgers.
Synergy Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Didn't we get beat everytime we faced him as Watford boss.
saintrich Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Didn't we get beat everytime we faced him as Watford boss. He has won his last 5 games against us.
Bailey Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 And he has a habit of winning 3-0 against us too. I know what result my money is going on this Saturday!
Genk Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Very good manager, wanted him at Saints for a couple of years when there was a vacancy here (rather Pardew now though). Saturdays game has just got 10times trickier for us. Expect Colchester to do rather well now (at least we have their captain!).

They've also signed John-Joe O'Toole on loan from Watford, a midfield player. Good prospect a couple of seasons ago.
OfnPanad Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 We're not going to lose. Taking my sister to St Mary's this weekend and she has never seen us lose live! Really odd as she's been going to 5-6 games a season for 10 years! The only home game she managed to get to last year was Norwich! My last win was back in January away to Barnsley. Been to a few stinkers since then! Going for 2-1 to us. COYR!
Saint Fan CaM Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Get down all you negative thinkers!!! We're due a win and it could be this weekend...why the hell not?! It's only Boothroyd and Colchester - at home to the mighty Saints. We'll show 'em. There - that's positive thinking for you. COYS! 0-0 draw it is then. lol
Doctoroncall Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 It depends on how much of Lambert's team set up he likes. At least we have some inside info against the opposition this time from Hammond, so I'll go for a home win.
Ludwig Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 They've also signed John-Joe O'Toole on loan from Watford, a midfield player. Good prospect a couple of seasons ago. He scores goals, from sheer luck, but is a headless chicken and is generally rubbish otherwise.
Window Cleaner Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 That is a good appointment for them - I expect us to get beaten. Well I think it will depend on the department of work and pensions rather than Boothroyd, if Jaidi plays alongside Trotman we shouldn't concede, whether we score or not is the variant. Don't think N'Diaye will be match fit but he should be able to shake Colchester up for 25 minutes or so. IF we play Morgan to feed N'Diaye with the sort of pass he's used to we may do very well, if not who the f*ck knows.
Legod Third Coming Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Never works for us, does it ? But for Danny Higinbotham it would have. And we would be in the Premiership, top under good ole Arry... An alternate sliding doors universe that so nearly was, but for that own goal...
Pilchards Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Is it like Boothroyd waves a magic wand and the players suddenly become world beaters? I don't buy it, I reckon we have too much for them and I go for a massive 1 nil one.
AlfredKo Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 So will be Jaidi against Boothroyd on the coming Saturday then. Just never know which effect will be greater, new manager effect or the new centre back effect.
skintsaint Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 So will be Jaidi against Boothroyd on the coming Saturday then. Just never know which effect will be greater, new manager effect or the new centre back effect. not forgetting the Papa effect..

Just never know which effect will be greater, new manager effect or the new centre back effect. Boothroyd doesn't need a work permit,Jaidi does or so it would seem, don't know if he'll get it by Saturday though.
Legod Third Coming Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 not forgetting the Papa effect.. Papa? Nicole?
saint-ross Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 I don't think either of Jaidhi or papa will feature on saturday as they probably wont have clearance by then. I still believe there's more of a feel good factor within the club though, and dont think Boothroyd will have had time to work his magic. I'm going for a saints win! COYR!

LVSaint Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Papa? Nicole? Doc? Hope so, we'd murder them.
John Boy Saint Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Get down all you negative thinkers!!! We're due a win and it could be this weekend...why the hell not?! It's only Boothroyd and Colchester - at home to the mighty Saints. We'll show 'em. There - that's positive thinking for you. COYS! 0-0 draw it is then. lol Well said that man (I presume). We have a clean slate now: No Gasometer up or down, no tide in or out, no walking through the underpass or over the lights, no lucky socks (or pants) nonsense. New dawn new superstitions and omens............................ Just someone get that White Witch back for a top up of what she did before. Hopefully he has rubbed a few of them up the wrong way already add that to the disruption to pre-season all going out of the window and we might get a sniff.
Fowllyd Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Trousers you make me laugh - you must spend so much time on tinternet. Yes, but on a long-forgotten thread he posted this link: http://www.catsthatlooklikehitler.com/cgi-bin/seigmiaow.pl - for this alone Trousers has my eternal gratitude.
BlakeySFC Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 I've been positive against Colchester in the past and it's always come back to bite me in the arse, we didn't beat them either home or away in the play-off season when we had probably the best squad in the league (arguably), losing on both occasions. And the following season we drew twice to them home and away again, so they're not to be taken lightly by any stretch of the imagination, they've just signed o'toole aswell which is a quality signing for them. Can't see us getting more than a draw out of this, but i'm going on Sat so we'll see how it goes i guess, last game i'm likely to be attending this year do to other commitments so would be good if i can be there to witness a Saints win for the first time since Derby away last year...but i can't see it happening, and i'll go for a 0-0 final score.
StDunko Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 Sturrock beat Liverpool 2-0 game. Redknapp's first the team played better than in a long time, went 2-0 against boro then threw it away as we couldn't defend. I was confident for Saturday, but now I think it'll be another draw. Boothroyd will pack the midfield and go for a 0-0 to avoid losing his first game. I'll say 1-1 again though. Didn't we win 2-1 at Newcastle in Alan Ball's first game in charge?
Badger Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 He scores goals' date=' from sheer luck, but is a [b']headless chicken and is generally rubbish [/b]otherwise. In the Prutton mould then, except for scoring goals. long ball merchant Sadly nothing in the rulebook to stop them winning matches and something we struggle against. Feel we owe Boothroyd a thrashing;let it be Saturday.
Badger Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 Didn't we win 2-1 at Newcastle in Alan Ball's first game in charge? Yes,pretty sure we did.
