Even if it is Jaidi, what a bloody good signing he would be.

A 100 cap defender who has Premiership experience. Him and Trotman would be a formidable partnership!

+1 ! Name me a better defense at this level...! there wouldn't be one IMO, that's probably more dominant than a number of championship too. (Let's not forget, Jaidi made 30 starts for Brum last season, who had the best defense in the league)

We just need to get the creative side sorted to feed Lambo, and we'll be a force.

Haha - love the quote by Bagpuss in the Guardian article

on a day Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp once described as "my favourite day of the year, my raison d'etre, my first, my last and my everything."

Multiple brown paper bag day (allegedly) or transfer deadline day as the rest of us know it!!!

I hope you're right but I've a feeling it'll be Jaidi. IMO, we've registered him as a Saint in time but we're awaiting completion of a formality (i.e. work permit, leave to remain, international clearance) before confirming it.

But there's no "in time" for Jaidi. He's a free agent, it doesn't have to be done before the deadline

Wiki says Patrick Kluivert was sighted in Southampton today, with a view to signing as a Player/Coach.

Mind you, anyone can edit Wiki.

I once edited the entry on National Historic Landmarks, citing that "Some people like to fart in National Historic Landmarks", which I'm sure is true given a big enough sample frame and the natural instinct to enjoy one's own chuffs.

Back to Kluivert. He's still only 33. Reckon he's even fit?

In June's 4-4-2 magazine Kluivert says he is open to offers and says English clubs should give him a call. He has also just finished his coaching badges with AZ Alkmaar. It must be him then!

Kluivert was sighted at St Mary's Stadium on the 1st of September, which rumours show, was to sign a Player/Coach contract at the Coca-Cola League One side Southampton FC.

i thought we'd had enough of Dutch experiments

not exactly going to cheer us up if its true is it

he's got a bad boy reputation and seems to have failed at more clubs than most players have actually had

when was the last time he was actually any good - probably at Ajax before he believed his own hype

I don't see what he'd add

Brilliant! Although would explain why the deal hasnt been completed yet... lol Kluivert... got to be the best rumor ever

Still think it's Jaidi! Can't believe it's anyone else tbf...this is just like the Murty transfer, he was with us for weeks, but they built it up like this! (not saying he's going to be a bad signing - a coup imo)

So, the big question:

Is Kluivert the new Bierhoff or the new Skacel?

I'd ****ing love it if we signed him. It would be the headline deal of the window.

(PS - I doubt there is any truth in this!)

How far we've fallen... are we now to be the Notts County of the South?

PS. I heard KK and WGS are going to be joint DoF's, they're starting next week.

Would be great to get Jaidi in as think him and Trotman could be a good pairing. Then get in a couple of loans next week when that window opens. When you think about it we have actually brought in a **** load of players this season already i.e Hammond,Lambert,Trotman,Mellis,Murty,Harding etc so it is quite humourous reading the time to cut our wrists brigade talking like we have done nothing. So hope he signs but would like to see a striker with pace added. If it is true that Holmes is almost fit then don't really need a winger then.

Oh god, gonna spend all of tomorrow refreshing the screen again.

EDIT: here's to not reading the whole thread.

The way they've worded it is a bit annoying, it could be a "new" autograph signing session they've got planned.

Time to own up....

I stole the cookie from the cookie jar.

Maybe now all those thousands of kids can stop asking each other whether it was them, with the standard reply "couldn't be".

Or the new Jan Koller ? Another Carsten Jancker perhaps ?

It's kinda like a deadline day tradition.

Got Jancker on the feed last year, Agogo this, and was part of the Koller hawk the year before, kinda

You are very very very sad.

I know it is harmless but come on is it really that funny? Does it really make you feel that special? Perhaps an achievement to go on your updated CV?

Harmless fun like you say. Usually make it fairly abstract so obviously not true/likely

You're not on Tiscali, are you Benjii or saint_stevo?

'Cos the person that started the Kluivert rumour is.

Entry edited at about 13:32 today. Probs someone rolling in from a liquid lunch and having a laugh.

It's Van der Waals.

You all thought he'd gone but he's still very much there behind the scenes. He's not the puppet master though, we all know who that is....

As for the twitter teaser - let us not forget the feed they sent out encouraging us to login at 7am one morning to find out our latest signing only to discover it was Graeme Murty, who'd been on trial with us anyway...

Hmmm, another 7am call to login to the OS... I wonder if it'll be a surprise signing or the big Tunisian defender we're all expecting!!

Just a suggestion for next year saint_stevo. Try starting rumours about somebody else's team.

It's just with the relegation, near oblivion and being pinned to the bottom of the table on negative points - most Saints fans have been through enough.

thats why you hate tac tics cos hes actually ITK.

1 lucky guess and not much more mate as far as i can see, then everyone worshipped him.

This was just a bit of a laugh, nothing more, nothing less, keep a cripple busy for a few hours

Probably Jaidi

Jaidi is starting rumours about who is going to sign?

Sounds like a troublemaker IMO, not too sure I want him anywhere near the club if what the cripple says is true.

Wikipedia's page of Jaidi stated that Jaidi was granted a work permit and was signed for us.

This info was appended to Wikipedia by a user who occasionally contributed in pages about Birmingham F.C..

Could it be, that we signed both Kluivert and Jaidi?!?
