OldNick Posted 1 September, 2009 Share Posted 1 September, 2009 Hmmm, last season (in a higher division) RL gave us the likes of Forecast, Molyneux, Gasmi, Smith and the world class Anthony Pulis. So far this season ML has given us Lambert, Hammond, Harding, and Murty, as well as couple of decent young loan players. Oh, and of course he gave Kelvin a new contract. Yes, I can the similarities! similar in running the club on the basis of trying to make it self sufficient.

The difference this season is that we have no debt, so money should be available whereas last year there was none. We do not have an owner or chairman who knows more about football and maybe that is showing. The signings are good, but have they made the team stronger? - Harding for Skacel; Lambert for Stern/Rasiak/DMcG; Hammond for Surman. Badger Posted 1 September, 2009 Share Posted 1 September, 2009 Excellent news he is off, and shows his true colours if moving to a club purely for money, rather than a higher league for a better chance at playing internationals. Saga is a c^nt of the highest order. As you say the talk of international ambition was solely to engineera move. The move to Notts County just shows him up as the grasping bastard he really is. He played out of his skin to obtain a contract and once obtained was quite indifferent about it. Good riddance to both him and Spasiak.

Even though Saga hasn't been sold (as far as we know yet) presume your hatred still exists? Was there ever even any truth in this story at all or perhaps Saga had no intention of going there as it would seriously damage his chances of playing for his country and (shock horror) he might not just be after the money. Minsk Posted 2 September, 2009 Share Posted 2 September, 2009 you only going on 1 season to suit your arguement then? We can compare signings made during the transfer window immediately after our last relegation if you like? But I don't think we rally need to rake up all of RLs diabolical history again do we? Which is why I will not say that another similarity is administration - RL led us into it; ML took us out of it. Is that similar????? P.S. A lot of what you said is based on hearsay and rumour. All we know as a fact is that Saga asked for a transfer after we were relegated last season to improve his international prospects. There is nothing wrong with that at all. ANY player in Saints squad (except Davis) would move on if they got the chance to play at a higher level. Surman, DMG, Euell, BWP, Dyer, Skacel et. al. left to pursue their careers elsewhere, good luck to them. There are two possible scenarios with Notts Country: 1. There was no bid at all and SSN got it wrong. No reflection on Saga at all. 2. There was a bid and Saga turned it down because it wasn't an improvement on L1 even if they were offering a pay rise. Again, no disgrace on Saga's part at all. As far as I'm concerned, he asked for a transfer, he didn't get it, end of story. Now he needs to get his head down and get on with the season and the Saga haters need to get off his back and give him the same support everyone else gets. Any player who wants away is not 1 who will really have his heart set on playing for us.He is overrated and his last goal was quite some time ago.You may blame poor service , but that was not allowed to be used as a reason for DMG not scoring hatfuls of goals. Saga is an international forward and has yet to score in L1. He has had quite a lot of play8ing time to have done so. It is not in my interests for him to fail and id be delighted if he scored lots of goals, but I doubt he will. After his scoring splurge last season I came on and accepted I was wrong, when in fact it was just a purple patch and now he has gone back to his norm. He will not have the best attitude in training and with the squad as he is somewhere he doesnt want to be. if you are unhapy at work you give off bad attitude and to my mind that wil be the same with a player brooding as he is still here. That's ambition, it's football, get over it. A move never materialised and he is staying here. Again, that's football, ge used to it. Saga has nothing to be ashamed of and whilst he is still a Saints player, he gets my full support. This is not me being biased towards Saga. I don't rate Morgan and there have been strong links with him away from St Mary's. However I will still cheer when his name is read out the next time I go to a match. P.S. Unspectacular, limited ability, lack of pace does not necessarily equal a bad player*. Wright, Telfer, Benali or even (takes cover) Carlton Palmer have all done a job for us... * mind you, most often it does equal a bad player ;-)
