brightspark Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 unbelievable. might well be trading leagues unless we sign some new strikers.
SaintRichmond Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Good job he's not French ... I wonder if Div 2 will prevent him from playing for Poland ..... Ah, no, ...Eriksson is there ... so no problem then..... We'll see him next season then ???
SaintNeil90 Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 we best have some bloody good replacements. look very thin up front now.
alpine_saint Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Is this a joke ?? HTF is Notts County a step-up ?
Matthew Le God Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Is this a joke ?? HTF is Notts County a step-up ? A step up in wages.
lee_saint Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Qwincy Owusu-Obeye anyone? Was joining Wolves last time I heard? Not 100% sure of him yet, and I'm pretty sure he won't end up in League One.
MOSaint Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Qwincy Owusu-Obeye anyone? A player like him would be a great signing, but I doubt he would want to play in L1
lee_saint Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Anyone notice how SSN got it all wrong on how much we paid for him and who we signed him from? They stated £1 million and from Legia Warsaw.....I was sure it was 800k and from Troyes.
alpine_saint Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 A step up in wages. Best shot of the mercenart c*nt then. Who is this Wincy Wincy Spider everyone is writing about ?
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 If it is for money, seeing as he's already on near on 10k p/w here, Notts County are heading for disaster if they're offering him alot more. I cannot believe the wages they are dishing out in L2, they are swinging with the future of that club. It's fair enough spending those wages top end of the champ, or in the prem - but surely there's no justification in L2? Makes a farce of that ''supposed'' wage cap too.
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 From Joe, via text on 81111: "Big rumour in Nottingham that Sven-Goran Eriksson has convinced Henrik Larsson to join Notts County!"
Saint Charlie Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Be great to get rid of him. He is only interested in money + never scores goals!
chrisobee Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 A player like him would be a great signing, but I doubt he would want to play in L1 Been released by Bristol City so he is certainly available.
lee_saint Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 From Joe, via text on 81111: "Big rumour in Nottingham that Sven-Goran Eriksson has convinced Henrik Larsson to join Notts County!" There has been talk that they are signing Vieri too.....that club is going to end up on it's arse before they know it.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Good riddance to Saga I'm afraid. Part of the persistent problem - no passion for the team leading to sub-optimal performances and no goals. Can't afford to have a player like that whatever wages he's on.
Saint Samuel Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Just like Sol Campbell, Saga is only in it for the money, lost a lot of respect for him
Gordon Mockles Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Yep, shocking. Wanting to play at a higher level for international prospects my a r s e! More like, turn down any decent career moves which don't better his inflated Saints wage and hang out until the money grabber can fleece a club for more money. F*ckin football mercenaries!! Best rid. T*sser!
Bailey Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Lol @ Saganowski if this move goes ahead. So much for moving to a higher division to keep his international career alive. Hopefully this means Saga will leave on a permanent basis and we'll get a half decent fee for him.
once_bitterne Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Is this a joke ?? HTF is Notts County a step-up ? Their billionaire likes to actually spend money?
Matthew Le God Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Their billionaire likes to actually spend money? Our billionaire has spent more on transfer and loan fees(not wages though).
Asaint4ever Posted 1 September, 2009 Author Posted 1 September, 2009 id like him to stay! he will get there soon he will bag us goals with him and lambert upfront!
Saint Samuel Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 I saw Saga out on the lash in Bedford Place a few weeks ago, asked him if he was planning to stay, but before he could answer one of his Polish mates interupted and was like "well what would you do if you got offered loads of money to move?".
bungle Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Excellent news he is off, and shows his true colours if moving to a club purely for money, rather than a higher league for a better chance at playing internationals.
Saint Stimp Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Just like Sol Campbell, Saga is only in it for the money, lost a lot of respect for him Odd comment to make seeing as he's not actually gone yet.. There's nothing to suggest he actually wants to go there. Yet.
JoeShmoe Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Apparently they're in for Benjani too isnt there a wage cap in L2 ...?
Saint Stimp Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 My bad, thought it was a done deal. If it does go through I'd completely agree with you. Echo think it's likely http://twitter.com/the_saints
Torres Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 isnt there a wage cap in L2 ...? Yes, but Notts County have decided that they don't want to play by the rules or the spirit of the agreement. Makes them c*nts in my book.
Langleysaint Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Yes, but Notts County have decided that they don't want to play by the rules or the spirit of the agreement. Makes them c*nts in my book. Do agree , but am just a tad envious that their billionare owners are actually acting like one.
Asaint4ever Posted 1 September, 2009 Author Posted 1 September, 2009 Yes, but Notts County have decided that they don't want to play by the rules or the spirit of the agreement. Makes them c*nts in my book. lol c*nts!! nice:cool:
SaintRichmond Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Yes, but Notts County have decided that they don't want to play by the rules or the spirit of the agreement. Makes them c*nts in my book. So why is Maw not Whinnying on about it then ??? .... If it were us .... we'd be on -50 by now ........
bungle Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Do agree , but am just a tad envious that their billionare owners are actually acting like one. Guess you'd rather not have a football club then? Either that or didn't read the fact we'd be run as a business? That or you failed to realise that our owner had to pay £16million up front for the club. You are mad.
Langleysaint Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Guess you'd rather not have a football club then? Either that or didn't read the fact we'd be run as a business? That or you failed to realise that our owner had to pay £16million up front for the club. You are mad. So you can honestly say that if saints were buying as they are you would not be happy, are you mad?
WGC Saint Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 I think most people have mentioned all there is to mention about this good for nothing mercenary! I'm afraid he epitomises all that is wrong with football nowadays. Why are there no MLT's around anymore? Good riddance to bad rubbish.....
bungle Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 So you can honestly say that if saints were buying as they are you would not be happy, are you mad? That isn't the point you were making though, is it? You were lambasting the guy that saved our club (putting £16million of his own money in up front), for not going around spending millions upon millions. FWIW, I much prefer the way he is going about it.
Torres Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 So you can honestly say that if saints were buying as they are you would not be happy, are you mad? Call me dull if you like, but I'd rather we ensure that there is a Southampton Football Club to support for many years to come by living within our means rather than being beholden to the money and goodwill of one man for our survival. You need only look at Gretna (and possibly Pompey soon) for an example of how it can all go wrong.
Hopkins Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 A couple of things some people need to realise in this thread. 1) To the person claiming Notts County chairman is acting like a billionaire more than ours is. We have spent more money this window the Notts County. Fact. Wages maybe not but transfer fee's we have. 2) Claiming it is against the rules/spirit of the agreement etc. No it is not. Get your facts right. Donations to the club go towards the turnover of any club. Money the owner wishes to pump into the club, will increase the turnover of the club, therefore the wage budget goes up. Fact. Its clever. It means people with money can spend it. Its legal. Nobody cares except you by the sounds of it. The people that matter, eg The FA, The Football League, Lawyers etc, know it is perfectly legal. Get over it you idiots.
St.Patrik Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Well rumours in Sweden says that Notts C will also getting Henrik Larsson before the window closes at 5pm.
sussexsaint Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 er... how much are we getting for him??
chrisobee Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Get over it you idiots. Shame, your post was ok until you decided to get abusive, what the hell gives you the right to call anyone an idiot? Totally out of order.
Langleysaint Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 That isn't the point you were making though, is it? You were lambasting the guy that saved our club (putting £16million of his own money in up front), for not going around spending millions upon millions. FWIW, I much prefer the way he is going about it. Transfer day madness may have set in a little, I for one will hold ML in the greatest regard for saving our club, but also feel with his resources and our start to the season (i understand the team are still jelling ) that we may have seen a bit more activity on the transfer front, any way there is still 3 hours to go and who knows.
GenevaSaint Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 2) Claiming it is against the rules/spirit of the agreement etc. No it is not. Get your facts right. Donations to the club go towards the turnover of any club. Money the owner wishes to pump into the club, will increase the turnover of the club, therefore the wage budget goes up. Fact. It is legal and above board, but not very clever if the rich benefactor fecks off. I guess it's highly unlikely in this case, but if they did I'd hazard a guess that County couldn't cover Sven's and Cambell's wages on their gate receipts let alone the rest of the squad.
Bailey Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Well rumours in Sweden says that Notts C will also getting Henrik Larsson before the window closes at 5pm. Their manager is going to have a hard time choosing his front two each game. With Hughes, Hawley, Saganowski, Benjani, Vieri and Larsson all vying for a starting spot, there's certainly a fair bit of competition.
