Live Deadline Day Transfer Rumours from Daily Echo

Liebherr has brought in 6 new players and we are the highest spenders in the division, to complain about his spending is ridiculous.

I believe Liebherr WILL put his own money in eventually, but don't forget that we brought in over £2million from the sale of Surman and McGoldrick alone.

Few clubs in the lower leagues ever spend anywhere near to the amount that they bring in. Mr Liebherr has already spent alot of money compared to every other club in this league. Remember our 6 new players would all have had signing on fees and agent fees along with the total fees which are 4 times what anyone else in League One have spent.

We've spent around 1.6m (1.1m for Rickie/ 450k for Hammond, loan fees for Trotman and Mellis) - which is a big amount in L1

Not many championship clubs can even spend that amount tbf, so all this shouting about him not showing intent is aload of rubbish.

And we got how much for McG, Rasiak and Surman ?

That was before he took over. I thought it went towards starving off the wind up of the club. As I understand it, ML cleared the debts, then gave us the cash for Lambert.

300k for greg,

but the fees for McG and Surman don't count.

those deals were agreed with the administrators and went towards paying the creditors/staff wages. Those deals were never going to be reinvested - they were just to tide us over.

McG & Surman were both to keep the club in existance without those sales we could be looking at no club at it was close to being wound up. We got around 400k for Rasiak, which will be spent today.

However it's a shame to see this negativity happen all again. Lets try being positive hardly any deals have been done anywhere today, there will be a very later flurry at around 4-5 and thats when you'll see the business being done.

3 Players a striker, a winger and a defender.

How the hell can Notts County legitimately afford the wages of Saganowski having already signed Campbell ? Seems they are making up their own rules.

That is what I dont get.

"There is a mandatory wage cap in this division that limits spending on players' wages to 60% of club turnover."

So Notts County are turning over a ****ing huge amount for a League 2 club, or there is something very sneaky going on.

Well they are bending the salary cap rules for sure which makes a mockery of having it in the first place.

Anyone know the penalty for breaching the rules?

Definitely has to be the latter as per the Daily Mail article link above I'd say.

They are not breaching the rules. There is a perfectly legal loop hole that means that if clubs like Notts County get donations from someone then it is considered turn over.

The donations come from there new owners.

There is no breaching of the rules or anything sneaky going on.

Its perfectly fine and legal.

Certainly NOT fine:

Loophole definition: " A loophole is a weakness or exception that allows a system, such as a law or security, to be circumvented or otherwise avoided."

That's not fine in my book.

But totally against the spirit of the agreement.

The money is being given as gifts, so it is not debt, and thus doesn't tie them to the rule for these players.

F*cking stupid having a wage cap anyway, would only work if it covered the whole nation.

There has been talk of a salary cap in the Premier League but of course nothing has happened. As I have mentioned before it works well in Rugby League, makes teams more competitive and therefore the whole of Super League better and a more level playing field. Also as shown 1n 2007 they WILL implement a points penalty if it is broken, Wigan lost 4 points and Bradford two.

Just starting to feel a little concerned now about the apprent lack of activity on our transfer front, yes I know there is 3 or 4 hours to go but every time the Skates sign a new player, which seems every hour or so the blue few at work are on the phone to remind me !!!!

1 will come trust me,

As was said many times before, signings since the new board have taken over have been dealt with professionaly and without leaks to the press, including the signing of AP. Just because we're not hearing rumours certainly doesn't mean nothing is happening.

I wouldn't expect much activity today, some departures perhaps, but nothing else.

The Jaidi deal can take as long as it needs to, as he's a free agent and I can see any other arrivals being loans, so obviously they don't need to be rushed through today either.

I would be pleasantly suprised if we did do a deal for someone today (even moreso if it's a double deal for a pacy winger and equally quick striker!)

That is quite true and the Echo thinks players are coming in.

But surely is Saga goes we need two more strikers.

Apparently the owner is forking out the cash and 'donating' the players to the club.

That's the loophole.
