I have to take tablets every day, around 3 times a day, and have been doing so for the past 2 years and on the packet it says they should be taken with food. I rarely take them with food and they still do their job. I guess it depends on what your tablets are but you should be alright I guess?

Quite often, it's to ensure an even intake of a drug, as it goes in more slowly if mixed with a load of food / drink. Also, some can cause problems such as stomach ulcers in unlucky cases or with specific / stronger types.

Really ??

Thats pretty surprising, and the fact your still on your tablets.

I know the patellar graft is supposed to hurt more though.

At least it's on the mend

I'm the opposite in that I have to take a tablet first thing in the morning before food (under-active thyroid).

It says on the packet that digestive juices can dilute the effectiveness of the drug.

Probably, taking them with food gives a slower release into the bloodstream.
