Isn't this why people got kids? So they could get the child to switch the channel for them?

I get mine to pass me the remote nowadays, even if it means calling them in from another room. The exercise is good for them.

btw, central locking is imho a waste. most journeys involve only the driver entering or leaving the car, so why unlock all the doors in the first place? And all this flshy using the keyfob from 1000- yards (metres) is confusing too, why not lock/unlock it with the key when you are actually stood next to it?

Ive heard of that, but Im not 100% sure what it is so I cannot confirm for you Keith. Possibly.

Can't you remember? You ate yourself into obesity and then followed it up with an overdose of stupidity.

Great little bit of banter. I felt I shouldn't have, but I lolled. :)

Fascinatingly, my car has a two stage system, unlocking only driver's door on first click, the rest on second click. I can only imagine the money I've saved in battery wear for not having to unnecessarily unlock the other doors.

There were only three channels and they stopped transmitting from 9pm-10am with an eight hour break in the middle of the day. In fact, the only programme broadcast was Pebble Mill.

Maybe if you add manual chokes to that too

Surely you mean ( before we had ) automatic chokes ? But if you want to add that, you could also list disc brakes all round, radial tyres on all cars, rear seat belts, in-car radios as standard, etc.

of the way we were." :)
