Thedelldays Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 it is the ex saint playing for palace at the mo..? if so, he looks exactly what the team is crying out for....strange
Saint Charlie Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 Well lots of people judged him pretty quickly. He obviously has talent, would have been hard for anyone to come into our team last year and show it.
Thedelldays Posted 31 August, 2009 Author Posted 31 August, 2009 looking at him today (and against man city) he seems to be a proper nippy wide player...and we let him go...? (not too sure) he would be EXACTLY what we need right now on the right hand side...
Wes Tender Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 I think that he is a World class footballer...and I'm not the only person to think so.
Nexstar Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 Thought he always had a good cross, pace and was the best corner taker we had last season.
Jonnyboy Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 if only hed scored that one against Manure after going on a run
saint_stevo Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 i always thought he looked good, and with potential
eurosaint Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 He was useless for us, lightweight, couldn't cross and flitted in and (mostly) out of matches ! It's fairly typical that once somebody has left they are pronounced as world beaters, I'll wager that he becomes no more than a fringe player for Palace !
eurosaint Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 looking at him today (and against man city) he seems to be a proper nippy wide player...and we let him go...? (not too sure) he would be EXACTLY what we need right now on the right hand side...[/QUOTE] That was part of the problem, he is left sided and was only ever played on the right, I guess because he didn't have the pace (or the bravery) to get to the byeline !
lee_saint Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 I thought he looked pretty gash for Palarse tonight, trying to shoot from everywhere.....ah well, we all have opinions.
Big Ron fan Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 LoL This is one of the funniest threads in a long time.
Wiltshire Saint Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 What with our zillions we could probably afford to buy him? Having seen him play he is exactly what we need and I think palace would probably sell for £2 million? I don't remember him playing for saints. When was this? Doesn't matter, we often release or sell players who then go on to be successful. He's probably learnt a lot from his time at Palace. Come on ML, stop being tight and get the money out....

sandwichsaint Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 Shy7e player! The player we could do with now (but who most on here never seemed to rate) is Nathan Dyer. Anyone for a Lambert / BWP combo? While we are at it what's with the Holmes / Mills situation .... both injured or what?
Mark`` Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 idc what u say. ryan smith we should have kept and would be a ****ing animal in this league
Causer Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 Nile Ranger who left our academy is playing for Newcastle at the moment. One that got away?
ribbo Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 Nile Ranger who left our academy is playing for Newcastle at the moment. One that got away? was a bit of a trouble maker in the academy, sometimes things dont work out and a move is best for all parties. good luck to Ryan, according to the bbc transfers page it's only a short term deal he's on.
team-saint Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 I still have no opinion on Smith having never seen him play his correct position.
SNSUN Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 Does anyone know what Neal Heaney's up to? Think I read somewhere he's a property developer. I'll check Wiki. Nope - Nothing.
Lazlo78 Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 it is the ex saint playing for palace at the mo..? if so, he looks exactly what the team is crying out for....strange Smith certainly never lacked effort though I'm not sure if he would ever have made it with us. To be fair though, I do remember a few concerned voices amongst the cries of joy when he left. Not all thought he was crap... Me? I'm fencesitting this out until we know for certain whether he did get the speed of Fabrice Fernandez and the tenacity of Paul McGrath or if it was the other way around
SNSUN Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 Thanks. How about Cosimo Sarli? Banged up in a Trinidadian jail for smuggled 10 tons of Cocaine into the country. He is now called "Cheryl" by his cellmate and lover.
benjii Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 No, no, that's Uli van Gobbel (actually I believe he is on the run). Marco Almeida?
Lazlo78 Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 No, no, that's Uli van Gobbel (actually I believe he is on the run). Marco Almeida? He runs a wellness centre for poodles...
Thedelldays Posted 31 August, 2009 Author Posted 31 August, 2009 Kleber Chala? Federico Arias? the torpedo..?
Chris Larkin Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 Sarmiento? According to Wikipedia, over the last two years he's played about 60 games for Larissa in the Greek top division. They finished 6th and then 5th in the league, qualifying for the Europa League this year. Meanwhile, we finished 20th and 23rd in the English second division and are at our lowest level in 49 years. I reckon the joke is squarely on our shoulders here. In conclusion, I blame Burley, or maybe Lowe or Redknapp or one of the usual suspects. Typical bloody Saints, etc.
benjii Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 He runs a wellness centre for poodles... With his long-time business partner and mentor Terry Hurlock?
Saint_clark Posted 31 August, 2009 Posted 31 August, 2009 looking at him today (and against man city) he seems to be a proper nippy wide player...and we let him go...? (not too sure) he would be EXACTLY what we need right now on the right hand side... NOOOOOOOO! This is EXACTLY why he was so ineffective last season. Playing on the left he always looked dangerous.
SaintRobbie Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Ryan Smith was pump for us. Dunno why people are rating him. As for Nile Ranger - nice to see him get a second chance but give me experienced professionals in this league over kids anytime.
Nadia Sllim Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Smith = very poor mans Jermaine Pennant
