tpbury Posted 29 August, 2009 Posted 29 August, 2009 I almost never follow a link to a newspaper article or blog if the person who posts it just says "interesting article on XYZ" or "be careful out there in cyberland" or whatever. It's too much effort. Can you not tell us why the article aroused you sufficiently to bother posting the link? Add some of your insight FFS!
St Landrew Posted 29 August, 2009 Posted 29 August, 2009 Ah yes, but then you get accused of writing more than one line, and that's too taxing a read for a lot of jokester posters. Even though they find themselves in the Lounge.
Saint in Paradise Posted 30 August, 2009 Posted 30 August, 2009 (edited) Also the forum might have legal problems if you just cut and paste articles as it breaches copyright issues. From the forum rules which state:- # DO NOT copy and paste entire articles from other websites on the forum. It is almost certainly a breach of copyright, and we get a lot of hassle from people at the Echo and the like because of it. Edited 30 August, 2009 by Saint in Paradise Added the forum rule

tpbury Posted 30 August, 2009 Author Posted 30 August, 2009 It's a HUGE effort required is to click the link and take a look , sometimes I have to lay down after clickying a linkying thingy Well I treat them a bit like junk mail, just a few words extra from the OP could make me more willing to follow the link. There's people who do this (some daily mail references going on on another thread), and I've followed the link. With YouTube clips, I don't mind coz I like watching funnies.
