revolution saint Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 No, i am expressing my point of view, same as everyone else, just perhaps slightly different. I think everyone knows your point of view now. It wasn't constructive in any way, it wasn't illuminating, it didn't make me think and it wasn't interesting. Thanks for sharing though. Micky Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 Was relegation part of that plan you reckon? Maybe it is just to easy to be negative at the moment Probably not - but as with any plan - any possibilities must be factored in. Fact remains though the 'five year' plan has not got off to a great start granted, but there is an awful lot of that plan to execute. Correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to recall a certain Roy Keane making a very dodgy start at Sunderland - but I'm pretty sure that Niall Quinn is happy that he kept his nerve and stuck with his man. How much longer do you want to give AP - shall we sack him after another 5 games and start all over, yet again?
revolution saint Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 Again, how would you have done things differently, and what do you attribute our poor form to? He's not trying to offer solutions or excuses - he would just like to moan a bit. He's not saying Pardew is bad, he's not saying the team is bad, he's just a bit tired and emotional. hypochondriac Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 If you accept that Pardew is a good manager, if you accept that we have brought in some decent players, if you accept that many players take a little while to gel, if you accept that there are visible signs of improvement almost every game, then what's the problem? They performed well. The majority of us can see improvement and realise that success doesn't come instantly. How long before SAF won his first title with United? NN2 Saint Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 IMO at the moment getting mid-table would be an achievement so hopefully alongside that we can have a decent run in the JPT. People can say what they like about performances but ultimately its the result that matters. Unfortunately draws will get us nowhere
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 30 August, 2009 Share Posted 30 August, 2009 we have spent more money than a fair few in this league will spend in the next 5 years...im sure we will spend more.. add that to the decent players we have already (kelvin, sagga) we have had enough of our own pre-season before the stockport game (pardew stated this before you shout me down) not good enough...simple as that just aiming for survival is so typically saints...I thought we should be doing better and to be fair, against a team that are in a bigger mess than us...we should be winning.. booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Dulldays out!!! booooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! waggy Posted 30 August, 2009 Share Posted 30 August, 2009 We are clearly rebuilding the club. You wouldn't have posted this if Davis had saved their pen and we won so just shows what a knee jerk reaction it is. Yes we havent started brilliantly but we will improve. Our pre season was so disrupted. If we are still minus points in a month time come and repeat this but for the moment it is crap. Get out and do something tonight to cheer yourself up. ...with you mate, new team takes time to gel. The state of sfc pre ml and ap as it now appears was so bad that only an absolute moron wud expect us to be winning every game. Get real folks this is a MAJOR rebuild and will take time. Gingeletiss Posted 30 August, 2009 Share Posted 30 August, 2009 I keep seeing Thedelldays posting on here and honestly cannot remember a single cheerful, encouraging or positive comment that he has ever made! Constructive criticism would be acceptable, but constant moaning and whinging is just irritating! Mate, we are all majorly fed up both with today's result and how the season has started but try and take the positives out of things - AP is building his own team in an efficient financial manner (ie without going out and spending millions on player after player) and I believe that in our last two games against Brum and Stockport we have seen consistent improvement. Our first win is just around the corner and could well spell a long run of good form. Cmon man we all need to trust AP and the owner as I believe that, although mid-table is probably all we will achieve this season, they are going to build a very good squad here at Saints which should see promotion achieved next season. We just have to have a bit of patience as it's clear that the not-so-distant future is bright, and it's red and white! Lol............I said on here, that he was negative, he came back at me, and said he wasn't, and to 'ask all his mates'. I glad that others see what a depressing fan he really is......still, once we win a few, perhaps he'll cheer up..........but I won't hold my breath!!! Professor Posted 30 August, 2009 Share Posted 30 August, 2009 Its good to see a lot of fans remaining positive and defending Pardew. But Pardew's reaction to the Stockport game saying 'we were robbed' is not a good sign. Its goals that count and they got there's just as we got ours. I only listened to the game on Saints Player but the commentators were saying what they saw, before Stockport equalised. What they said was that Saints were failing to turn possession into enough goal attempts, and failed to take the chances they did get, but worst of all was the failure to hold possession of the ball towards the end of the game. Instead the defence were simply booting it up field like a bunch of amateurs, for Stockport to bring it back. I hope Pardew's reaction was just in the heat of the moment, which must have been a deep disapointment, but when he has time to look at what went on, maybe he will see that its going to be hard to get some of these players to play better and that he still needs some better players. CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 30 August, 2009 Share Posted 30 August, 2009 Top 2 was never really 'on' in any sense other than that of a improbable mathematical possibility , even a play off place was always unlikely and would have required the good start to the season we've obviously not achieved . So now we're looking at mid table at best or relegation at worst - I reckon there are enough weak teams in this division to mean we can/should avoid the worst if we improve even modestly , but I'm not as confident in saying that as I was 4 weeks ago - who is ? Tempus omnia revelat - time will reveal all .

At least thus shows we have NO MORONS posting here, as no one has actually suggested we should have won every game!! Its not having won a league game at all and now being 11 points from safety instead of the 10-point gap we started on that is causing the unrest. True, this is a MAJOR rebuild, but people are entitled to ask if there has been enough urgency and if all the weak points have been dealt with, given the limited time of the transfer window. I was going to make similar points - in order to win we must score more goals and not blame the ref
