Dog Posted 8 September, 2008 Posted 8 September, 2008 (edited) Here is a UK maths trick that may stump you. 1. Grab a calculator. (You won't be able to do this one in your head, Too late.) 2. Key in the first three digits of your home phone number (NOT the areacode) 3 Multiply by 8 4. Add 1 5. Multiply by 250 6. Add the last 3 digits of your phone number 7. Add the last 3 digits of your phone number again. 8. Subtract 250 9. Divide number by 2 >>> Do you recognize the answer? Edited 8 September, 2008 by Dog

Robsk II Posted 8 September, 2008 Posted 8 September, 2008 These things are always crap. Work out the last three after only getting the first three as an input - THAT will be a real trick.

Deano6 Posted 8 September, 2008 Posted 8 September, 2008 you might aswell have done 1 - type in 6 digit house number 2 - add by 1 3 - take away 1 = house number +1 .
Crouchie's Lawyer Posted 8 September, 2008 Posted 8 September, 2008 You might aswell have done 1 - Type in 6 digit house number 2 - Add by 1 3 - Take away 1 = House number +1 . No silly that would be your house number plus one! One of your neighbours!
hamster Posted 8 September, 2008 Posted 8 September, 2008 Did youknow.. It is easier to guess a strangers phone number than it is to win the lottery. Plus it is free to play.
Crouchie's Lawyer Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 Did youknow.. It is easier to guess a strangers phone number than it is to win the lottery. Plus it is free to play. Dont really get the same sense of winning once you get it though do you?
hamster Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 Dont really get the same sense of winning once you get it though do you? Unless you have won the lottery you can only speculate on this INS. Whereas, losing at the phone number game (copyright - hamster games inc.) is (a bit like) winning a quid for every wrong guess. Does that make sense?

Iowsaintsfan Posted 10 September, 2008 Posted 10 September, 2008 No silly that would be your house number plus one! One of your neighbours! Surely it wouldnt be a Neighbour as house numbers tend to go up in 2's and therefore would more likely to be across the street!
foghorn Posted 11 September, 2008 Posted 11 September, 2008 Surely it wouldnt be a Neighbour as house numbers tend to go up in 2's and therefore would more likely to be across the street! Getting confused between nextdoor neighbours and just neighbours?
