Child Abducting

Over the last few years there have been some very public child abductions. The latest one, involving an 11 year old girl, at the time of her abduction, called Jaycee Dugard, brings the crime back into sharp focus again.

I find this particular crime absolutely sickening. To separate a yound child from his or her parents must be devastating for the abductee and for the parents. The psychological cruelty handed out by the abductor is something I can't get my head around at all. It is one thing to kill or injure, and those crimes are evil enough; but it is a diffrent kind of evil to inprison an innocent young child or person, continually depriving them of the joy and love of an upbringing. Nobody can give that girl back her younger life. She's back with her mother now, but what damage has been done..? To my mind, her abductor has taken a life.

on the bright side, at least she didnt have to sit through "Friends" in the 90's.

Joke aside, yes, I feel sick to my stomach that anyone would ever take my children, especially as you can't watch them 24/7

Watched that real crime last night with what happened to Jamie Bulger, totally sickening. Then turn over to the news to see Jaycee Dugard, shocked.

Had a chat with my two 4 year olds this morning about being aware of strangers. They are into Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in a big way at the moment and part of the storyline relating to the Child Catcher (who tricks the children with lollipops) is quite useful in illustrating the problem.

My two are very sociable and are of an age where they are very trusting of other people.

It is a delicate balance between educating them to be aware of the dangers out there, without frightenling the living daylights out of them.

What makes it worse is that this girl has given birth to two children, so has been raped at least twice, and most probably many more times.

Perhaps the sickest story of child abduction though is Joseph Fritzl. To abduct a child is one thing, to rape a child is another, but raping your own daughter repeatedly for 26 years (I think it was) and having multiple children with her is perhaps sicker than anything your imagination could comprehend.

Johnny, I don't know why I sat through this as I was thoroughly depressed by it and frankly I still am. All I wanted to do was go and give my 3 year old boy a big hug, but didn't want to wake him. I know the 2 killers were only 10 but what they did to that poor little 2 year old was,as you say, totally sickening. I hear that they did quite a lot more than what was mentioned on TV, including (I think) shoving batteries where the sun doesn't shine. I feel sorry for Mrs Bulger who knows that these 2 "kids" were freed after less than 8 years.

I read about it today to find out what they did do. Totally horrific - they tortured the poor little child all the way from the shopping centre to the railway line. When they had finished kicking him to within an inch of his life, they laid him across the railway tracks to let a train finish him off and destroy the evidence.

How the hell they can be released in just a few years and be given new lives is beyond me. Apparantly, one is now at university and the other having done his A Levels. If you can do that when your 10, you have it in you to do it when you're older. For all you know, he could be your next door neighbour.

There is a strong case for opening up concentration camps for ****ers like these and letting them rot.

All of the above is totally sickening to any sane human being, and I fail to comprehend how nicking a fiver from a corner shop with a plastic gun can lead to a longer jail term than those crimes already mentioned.

If any politacal party wants to win my vote all they have to do is promise to change to change the law so that a fitting punishment meets the crime committed. For example:

A cold blooded murderer is punished by being killed in the same manner that he/she ended his/hers victim's life (to be aired live on TV).

A rapist is castrated (could also be aired on TV, but only if no anaesthetic is administered).

A peodo is castrated and tortured (again, on live TV) in various imaginative ways. (If they need help in this I am willing to come up with numerous, very painful, ideas. (One day I will get around to publishing one of my novels and you can all get to see how twisted my mind can be!)

I have many other ideas but I'm sure you get the picture. I'm also sorry if this seems a bit OTT but after a few vodkas and reading this I just had to get it off of my chest.

The justice system in the UK just seems to one big joke for me. Which is only one of many reasons why I am happy not be living there at this present time!

And apparently, one of the muderers spent part of his 'sentence', just up the road from where I lived at the time in Lower Swanwick.
