SO16_Saint Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Who, in your view, would be a good realistic replacement for Rasiak? I think someone like McClean or Mackail Smith of Peterborough, or Barnard from Southend. Thoughts on who we could get in???
Smirking_Saint Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Simeon Jackson, theo robinson, someone nippy and wants to score goals
Smirking_Saint Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 J Bizzle has played at a high level, and by his own words is absolutely amazing, what about him ??
Torres Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Who, in your view, would be a good realistic replacement for Rasiak? I think someone like McClean or Mackail Smith of Peterborough,
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Newsflash......... Saints technicians already have Rasiak replacement ready for action........
Rasiak-9- Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Someone fast Seriously When WAS the last time Saints scored a goal with a striker racing through one on one before slotting it home?
SuperSAINT Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Someone fast Seriously When WAS the last time Saints scored a goal with a striker racing through one on one before slotting it home? Pahars or Camara?
S-Clarke Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Found him, his touch is unbelievable Seems like he's got a bit more mobility that Rasiak tbf
CLOTH EARS Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 This. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Sharp
John B Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Seems like he's got a bit more mobility that Rasiak tbf Somebody like Ormerod who ran around but hardly ever scored
Smirking_Saint Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Somebody like Ormerod who ran around but hardly ever scored But was the perfect foil for Beattie who would not have scored half the goals he did without him
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Who, in your view, would be a good realistic replacement for Rasiak? I think someone like McClean or Mackail Smith of Peterborough, or Barnard from Southend. Thoughts on who we could get in??? Please tell me you're joking?
John B Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 But was the perfect foil for Beattie who would not have scored half the goals he did without him I thought somebody would say something stupid like that If you are a striker you are supposed to score goals what happened when Beattie left
Thedelldays Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Somebody like Ormerod who ran around but hardly ever scored indeed what makes me laugh..we had ohmygod and we all wanted 20 goal a season striker..we get one then we want one who runs around loads.. newsflash...the ones that get 20 goals and run like a trojan in the CCC tend not to stay that long...
Smirking_Saint Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 I thought somebody would say something stupid like that OK then, cos he has been as prolific since he left hasn't he ?? Pray tell, did you go to many matches back then ??
converted_saint Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Newsflash......... Saints technicians already have Rasiak replacement ready for action........ Wow, Pardew's really touching all bases with the new scouting system he's put in place!
Rebel Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 I think Tom Craddock is the most likely but I think he will be a replacement for Saga Lambert was the replacement for Stern and Rasiak
70's Mike Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 either another center back or center midfield
SO16_Saint Posted 27 August, 2009 Author Posted 27 August, 2009 Please tell me you're joking? yes. Sad as it is, we'd never get them if we wanted to. But someone LIKE them. Fast, strong, agile, proven goal scorer in this league.
SuperSAINT Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 2 from Craddock/Sharp/Jackson (Let's be honest, Saga will go as well).
SO16_Saint Posted 27 August, 2009 Author Posted 27 August, 2009 Unfortunately, it's never gonna happen, but Freddy Sears - on loan at Palace - is having a blinder vs Man City
teamsaint Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 vokes on loan? or is he getting a game at wolves?
Smirking_Saint Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 vokes on loan? or is he getting a game at wolves? Would be nice but we already have a big lump.
Saints Pedro Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Will we get a prize for fielding an all English team?
shurlock Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Someone fast Seriously When WAS the last time Saints scored a goal with a striker racing through one on one before slotting it home? BWP v Forest last game of the season? Got a few goals like that -Burnley (a 2007/08 ), Plymouth (a 2007/08 ); but also missed a ton of chances from one-on-ones (at least can be commended for having the pace to break through). Otherwise, Saga v Preston (h 2008/09)...
Badger Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Craddock is probably the most promising of the names mentioned and the one most likely to form a good partnership with Lambert.
hectors house Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Why has nobody mentioned Jermaine Beckford from Leeds, especially if Saga also leaves - wouldn't that be a statement of intent. I know he would cost a LOT but we are rich now it's not as if we would have to pay him premiership wages but just a good (perhaps very good) 1st Div wage. I don't think it will happen but as this is a wish list then he's my wish.
benjii Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Oh yeah, and for about the fifth time on here.... Nathan Tyson.
Andy_Porter Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 indeed what makes me laugh..we had ohmygod and we all wanted 20 goal a season striker..we get one then we want one who runs around loads.. newsflash...the ones that get 20 goals and run like a trojan in the CCC tend not to stay that long... Wouldn't mind the happy medium and in Saganowski I think we have that player. Runs around a fair bit and should score 10+ league goals. I'd like to see us bring in a player to replace BWP who can really change a game from the bench with alot of pace. Not really sure who, don't really know much about this league or league 2 and who's available but there must be someone.
Rasiak-9- Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 BWP v Forest last game of the season? Got a few goals like that -Burnley (a 2007/08 ), Plymouth (a 2007/08 ); but also missed a ton of chances from one-on-ones (at least can be commended for having the pace to break through). Otherwise, Saga v Preston (h 2008/09)... pssh - even then Saga's goal vs Preston was an angled shot where he had to turn the defender. It wasn't like sheer pace as he raced through, passing it into the net one on one. I'm not just saying this as an example because i think those type of goals look nice but because it highlights our lack of pace and lack of ability to find a through-ball!
oxfordshire_saint Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 Anyone mentioning the likes of Beckford need to get real. He is only at Leeds (unless he goes by Tuesday to a Prem/CCC side) until the end of the season, he's made it clear to them he will not be playing League One football past this season, which is why he hasn't signed a new contract, to see if they go up or not. We're here for 2 seasons at least, so Mr Beckford won't be coming down here. Craddock, Bishop, Jackson or Sharp are more realistic. It'll have to either be a star from a small side or someone well out of favour at a bigger side.
saint_boysie Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 What about Brett Pittman at the Cherries? thats a shout!
Saint Paul C Posted 28 August, 2009 Posted 28 August, 2009 Oh yeah, and for about the fifth time on here.... Nathan Tyson. Gets my vote as well. Could be an excellent partner for Lambert, plenty of speed, good crosser and knows how to beat a man. Might be able to get him from Forest without too much drama considering the 'log-jam' of strikers they have.
brightspark Posted 28 August, 2009 Posted 28 August, 2009 Rasiak was a slow, hold up striker with a great goalscoring record..... we have already replaced HIM, its called Ricky Lambert. We need someone to replace the fast, quick striker that always partners the big man. Last year we had BWP and perhaps McGoldrick in this mould. We still need to sign someone who has these attributes. Maybe a loan is the answer???
