It's looking increasingly like zero but you never know... I guess...

I doubt our ability to bring in any perm. signings now, but we'll still be out there for loan deals and free's (Jaidi)

and for JohnB - the window closes at 5pm on Tuesday.

We may well have some targets that are dependant on their current clubs being able to sign the players they are after. If so, expect those negotiations to go to the wire. Out of contract players and loans can be signed after the window shuts, so I suspect at the moment the priorities are the permanents.

rumour from coventry fans that Eastwood is joining us

Potentially a good signing but not sure he is compatibable with Lambert in the classic big bloke/quick striker combination.

Coventry fan came onto our 606 board saying he heard we're in for him.Who knows if he has genuine info or is just a wum but as the rumours are very difficult to get these days with the new regime it is normally fans from other clubs who 1st break the stories these days like Lambert.

If we could get him for £750k or less I would be very happy with this signing as I think Freddie could do with a new challenge and he was prolific in the lower leagues. So maybe there could be some truth to this rumour as Coventry are trying to sign a new striker

Lionel Messi

Samuel Eto

John Terry

Rio Ferdinand

Wayne Rooney

All for very silly money, all at the 11th hour on the 1st September.............................. And guess what we will still have posts slagging the decision to buy them.

By the way have we signed Skacel yet?

:-)

Totally unrealistic post

Rooney wouldn't move this far away from his family and friends.

I think that we'll see 3 new faces by the end of next week. 2 in before the window and the conclusion of a long running attempt to get some muscle in the back line.

This Irish lad that ART picked up on looks promising and maybe Eastwood or perhaps Tyson.

Bryan is a winger/forward at Man U.

Balenta is a type of wheat dish I think?

I thought it sounded more like some sort of afterbirth.

(Although that is placenta)

never heard of 1 and 3, what positions are they?

Balanta is a pacey/strong forward, very young though - 18/19 i think.

was on loan in L2 at Wycombe last season and scored a few goals.

Hope I'm wrong - but I've a feeling loans may be all we are getting until Jan.

Love to see Jahidi sign though

I don't have a problem with loans, We are not attractive at the moment being on -7.

Come January if the club have a more respectable points tally then it will attract some better players who will believe we will not get relegated.

I reckon 2 in and 2 out on loans.

Jaidi and a striker followed by thomson and Another out on loan.

Given the current rumour mill, I'd be pleased if we could get O'Donovan and Craddock. Both young enough, hungry enough, and maybe with points to prove after less than successful premiership spells.

Jaidi is a free agent, so doesn't have to be before the window "slams shut" (copyright SkySports). And I'd be staggered if we could pull off these Eastwood/Mifsud-esque signings...

S-Clarke mentioned an Accrington Stanley player. I've had a look on their site to see the profiles, and considering I've heard of pretty much none of them, the most "promising" for me, based on the schpeil, would be Phillip Edwards. Players player of the year, and can play anywhere along the back four (i.e. could cover Murty, and, in Harding if required) http://www.accringtonstanley.co.uk/index.php?main=stats/profiles.php

Like most here, I'd want more. But that would be more than satisfactory for me I think.
