Bailey Posted 27 August, 2009 Share Posted 27 August, 2009 Glad to see that he's finally gone. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a fit and motivated Rasiak in our side, as he'd score a shed load in this division. However, he has repeatedly stated his desire to leave and now he's got his wish. In our position, we can't afford to have anyone at the club who isn't committed to the cause and willing to give their all. Having said all that, Rasiak did provide me with one of my greatest Saints memories. His goal at Pride Park is up there with the best of them based on what it meant and when he scored it. As he tucked that away, I was convinced we'd go on to win the game and gain promotion. Turns out I was horribly wrong! Anyway, I wish Rasiak all the best at Reading, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him do well for himself there.
Verbal Posted 27 August, 2009 Share Posted 27 August, 2009 *cough* As announced by Uncle Trousers at 08:33 this morning (on NickG's "he's off to Watford" thread... ;-) ) Keep up (FFS) Are you slumming as an ITK now?
david in sweden Posted 27 August, 2009 Share Posted 27 August, 2009 Thanks for the goals Rasiak - some great ones in there too. I'll never forget that goal against Derby away in the 2nd leg. I have never celebrated a Saints goal so hard. Happy happy memories. It's a shame he didn't want to play in League 1 because he would have been leathal, but if he has ambitions to play for Poland in the World Cup then you can understand his desire to move. He really has been treated poorly by us to be fair. Dropping him half way through a season in which he was scoring bag fulls, then loaning him out to cut costs must have been frustrating but he never whinged or moaned, so can't really understand the bitter responses from some of our fans. Good luck to him. Good comments ......agree 100%
Morph Posted 27 August, 2009 Share Posted 27 August, 2009 Not going to knock him. He was treated badly by us. Thanks Rasak for the goals. I hope you do well. Well I'm delighted he has gone. I witnessed the scorn that Lambert had for him at the Brentford game when Lambert came over to the Itchen when he was temporarily injured and Rasiak appeared to take the ****. Good riddance. saintsmike25 Posted 27 August, 2009 Share Posted 27 August, 2009 I always liked Rasiak despite what people say, yes at times he was lazy but if he had stayed in the side he'd have scored goals, he always had chances and got into the positions. But the 10k a week off the wage bill + 300,000 means we can hopefully get a winger.
Ash Posted 27 August, 2009 Share Posted 27 August, 2009 Good luck to the guy; pretty much the stupidest of all Burley's stupid decisions was dropping him in the middle of the 06/07 season when he was absolutely storming the league. Been treated pretty badly since then by all accounts. Can't blame him for wanting offski, we must have known this when we signed Lambert. The two couldn't really have played together anyway. You know that lovely feeling you get when Saints score a goal? My favourite ever one is his last minute equaliser at Gay Pride Park. I went absolutely bat**** mental and it is a moment I genuinely think I will remember until the day I keel over.
