If Old Twitchy bought Morgan at Spuds, I would dislocate my arse laughing. I really don't get the hype about thus guy. He has yet to register a goal for Saints and as of the Huddersfield game, hadn't got an assist either. He doesn't track back, tackle, move and according to the stats, he won 1 header in the whole of last season. Yet some people continue to be impressed by his "neat touches" and "great vision" despite the fact that they have thus far produced the square root of fook all.

Yes he is young and may well go on to have an exciting future. You could say that about any of them though. I have seen nothing to distinguish him from the likes of Dyer, Gobern, McLaggon, DMG, Gillett, James or any of our other recent academy products.

Just shows you can't tell a potential superb player from an average one.

Do you really think he would be linked with prem teams, play for France Youth teams etc if he was average?

Do you see clubs queing up for Gillett or James?

Against Ajax he looked the only one of our players who was on a level anywhere near them in terms of technique and quality.

Fair enough, he hasn't really settled to this style of football, but he has more talent than most of our other players put together.

The last laugh will be for the Prem team that buys him for a throwaway amount like 2m.

Are we talking about the same Scheiderlin that couldn't even make the Southampton starting line-up against Stockport?

Yes the unsettled one that Pardew said after the Millwall game "has more talent thatn 99% of this division".

2m is a good deal for us at this time but Schneiderlin will go onto bigger and better things than any of the players at the club at the moment.

He is a good player, thats all. Hence why teams like Spurs are interested in him.

Christ on a bike you're off your trolley with that one. When was the last time anyone spent £2m on any League 1 player? Lambert cost us half that and he scored 29 goals in a season. MS has done f**k all and was left of the bench. The only things which Morgan has going for him are a decent first touch and the fact that Lowe paid a ridiculous amount of money for him. I'd take £500k tomorrow.

Well Villa bought Fabian Delph for £8m after a good season and some Eng U21 appearances.

Oh and Lowe didnt spend much on him, the fee would have been over a number of years and based on us being promoted, him playing for France etc.

For Spurs, 2m is nothing and is a good deal.

It is also a good deal for us providing it is reinvested and we get a sell on fee because he is a very good player and is still only 19. You can't teach the ability he has and when someone gets the best out of him, he will develop into a top class player.

Sky Sports Sources understand Tottenham are closing in on the signing of Portsmouth star Niko Kranjcar.

not sure they'd need both Niko and Morgan tbf... (lol @ portsmouth too)

Also, there is no way Morgan is the finished article!! He needs a season playing regularly learning his trade!! he goes missing too easily when it starts getting physical!

Sadly this does not stop agents selling under developed players for mega bucks.

Saved me some typing there - completely agree.

He's talented but I don't think he's really motivated to play for us anymore, he's a luxury player who will develop into a very good player, but league one isn't the place for him to do it. If we can get a fee of a million for him and that goes on a winger or second striker then that will be great business.

I hope Schneiderlin rots on the bench if he doesn't move on - nothing against him, this is just the wrong league and team for him now. End of story - he must go to enable us to move on.

I think he will be a very good player and would like to hold onto him.

It is a big ask for an 18 year old to move to another country and hold down the playmaker role week in week out in a struggling side.

Certainly for first half of season he should be viewed as a squad player.

We sold Dyer for less than that to Swansea and he looked much more exciting a prospect than Morgan. Blackstock left for about £500k and he had scored in the Prem. We sold Mills for less than that and got similar amounts in tribunals for Cranie and Best. Griffit left on a free, as did Sparv.

All these players I rated more than Schneiderlin. Some on here seem to believe every player who signs a pro contract on their 17th birthday is worth £5m and you have to wait until they're 25 before you can criticise them.

You're only worth what someone is willing to pay for you. From what I've seen of Morgan over the last season and a bit, I wouldn't spend more than £500k on him. Just because Lowe was that stupid, doesn't mean someone else will be.

Schneiderlin needs to remind himself he was ineffectual in a side that was possibly one of the worst ever seen in the Championship and is currently not cutting it in League 1 either. Don't bang your arse on the door on the way out Loserboy.

He's 19 you muppet, lets not try and compare him with a much older player in a different position.

You boys are so blinkered its unbelievable.

.and why do you think that was ..?

if there was a potential signing in the offing, you don't want him injured .!

BBC said earlier that Arsenal were in the market for a late deal involving a midfielder...

Schneiderlin?

That doesn't sound that far fetched, he's young and French. Two ticks in the box for Arsene!

Arizona, You say League One players don't go for big money.

Fabian Delph (a league One player) went for between £6 million and £8 million a few weeks ago.

Before you say Schneiderlin isn't worth it, I think the French National setup(under 20 captain and now into the Under 21's) and a number of Premiership clubs disagree with you.

Morgan will be a top flight player in the next few years perhaps even a full international at some point aswell. Anyone that thinks otherwise is clearly mad. ;) :D

You say worth 500k :D :D :D :D

Yes, I forgot about Delph. Still, he was very much the exception rather than the rule. Name another L2 player who has cost anywhere near that amount. Delph was probably the brightest prospect outside the Premiership. I know some of you think our youth set up is the best in Europe etc. but it isn't.

And again with the "He's 19 so he must be worth millions because he is going to go on and become world class" theory.

Managers wont overlook the fact that he is completely ineffective just because he is young and has a good touch. I saw a 10 year old doing keepie-uppies in Flemming Park last weekend. Young, skilled... must be worth £4m at least.

Just checking, but you are joking yeah?

You do realise the French setup rate him very highly hence why he was captain and now being moved into the Under 21's. A host of top Premiership teams rate him and have scouted him.

You are crazy if you think he is worth 500k.
