60, 50, 40.......... of course it is heading inevitably it seems towards 20/20 only for one day games. 13-5 in favour the vote, I find that extraordinary but wonder who the 5 were? Hants as FP holders maybe, does anyone know who voted against ?

Quite ridiculous decision, I don't know anyone who would want the 50 over tourney to be scrapped.

I like this part though. Would be brilliant for Dutch cricket IMHO.

Netherlands are also believed to be in the frame, especially after their success against England in the ICC World Twenty20.

Don't exaggerate !! I did remember that thread but a) couldn't be bothered to look for it ! and b) was not sure if the 40 over figure had been agreed though this bit of the report :

 

"and a Sunday afternoon limited-overs competition."

 

did have me thinking it would be 40 overs as of course the Sunday League in all it's guises has I believe always been 40 overs. Don't know why they could not start earlier though and make it 50 overs.
