We get one of the strongest batting line-ups in the game to follow-on and the final tally is Hants 11 Somerset 10. What a load a cack. A team who have won just 1 game all season lie 5th in the division just 9 points behind a team who have won 3 games!! I'm sorry but this is a load of old ********!! Weston Saint Posted 30 August, 2009 Share Posted 30 August, 2009 Number of issues on this thread. Spoke to Ervine about his "hit wicket" his foot slipped as he played his shot. He told me it is the first time it has ever happened to him. Dimi has an injury to his heel and will be out for about a week. Spoke to his father who said it happens from time to time and they have no idea how it ocurrs. Dimi was limping today when he passed me. Dawson enjoyed opening the bat. Seem likely he will continue to do this for the rest of the season to give him a chance to build a innings as a batsman. He said it was more pressure but found there were more gaps facing the new ball. He sees his future as a batsman, not a bowler. Bad light call is for the Umpires to make. Players can no longer be consulted. Health and Safety issues gone mad. We were on top most of the game yet we end up with only 1 point more than Somerset! 140 in 17 overs was a very hard task without fielding/bowling restrictions but spoke to David Griffiths who said the dressing room were confident of winning before the light. I hope we don't regret these lost points at the end of the season. We certainly scored a moral victory over Zummerzet (but then the Aussies did over England at Cardiff). Mate, I think they are way worse than those who run football. Here's an example. We decide to drop the friends Provident trophy..but keep the Sunday 40 over league??? In football terms that's the same as dumping the FA cup but keeping the Coca Cola Cup...freaking mental. Why not dump the 40 over league & play the Friends Provident with it's min league and knockout format on Sundays?? Wow i'm on a roll today. That is a game we really need to win as we then have Durham at home ( 15-18/9) and what could be the crucial game away to Yorks on 23-26 Sep.
