Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 26 August, 2009 Share Posted 26 August, 2009 Absolutely brilliant to see him back on SSN after his battle with cancer. I really hope that's it for him, and he can continue to work on Sky and support the mighty Saints. So happy for you Ed, and good luck for the future. SNSUN Posted 26 August, 2009 Share Posted 26 August, 2009 I wondered why he was off the screens! His replacement in the evening football slot was poor. It's good to have a Saints rep at SSN, long may he continue.

He was great last night, he found it hard to stay neutral when Paul Jewell was next to him saying it looks like Southampton who will win it..... ....2mins later, brum equalized.... Psycrow Posted 26 August, 2009 Share Posted 26 August, 2009 I was actually only thinking last night how well he handled himself with the whole WH/Millwall thing. He kept his composure and found the right balance between reporting on the fighting and the football at other grounds which he still had to do. converted_saint Posted 26 August, 2009 Share Posted 26 August, 2009 Didn't know he's battled cancer, didn't know he was a Saints fan. Always thought he was the poor man's Jeff Stelling but he's gone up in my estimation now!

Why does he have to stay neutral...Jeff Stelling doesn't when Hartlepool score! Especially James Brown.

whelk Posted 30 January, 2016 Share Posted 30 January, 2016 Richard Osman just said on Danny Baker Show that used to be Saints fan as dad was season ticket holder and grew up in New Forest. 10 years ago started going to Fulham and now has stopped looking for our results. Couldn't find a 'who are our celebrity fans thread?'

The Cat Posted 30 January, 2016 Share Posted 30 January, 2016 See I never get this type of thing - how do you just stop supporting one and go to another? He said that his Dad left when he was young and he never heard from him or his side of the family again. He had moved and didn't live near Southampton, was too young to go to games by himself and didn't know anyone else who supported them so started going to watch Fulham instead. Fair enough - didn't realise his old man had done one.
Bwanamakubwa Posted 30 January, 2016 Share Posted 30 January, 2016 I've spoken to him in the pitcher and piano at ocean village earlier in the season. Was there as a fan to watch the game. Sent from my ONE A2001 using Tapatalk
