Just out on the BBC;

http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/documents/football-arrests-0708?view=Binary

The PDF shows us as 21 banning orders for football related violence in 2007 / 2008 (Latest available) which is failry low compared to some and at a quick glance would have us towards the bottom of a league table for the championship teams (Nothing were not used to) ...conversely skates are top (Worst) in the premiership with 91.

No apparent issues for Saints then, which may be a surprise to some, given some of the "Trouble at game posts" over the last couple of years.

90% of anything I've ever seen has been in or around pubs/train station. Away from the ground anyway.

Doesn't make it un related as such but it hasn't resulted in arrests etc

The one person who got they ass banned from Leek Town must be proper hardcore.

Fighting broke out when they discovered that the PG tips had ran out, and all what was left was Earl Gray

The BBC blogger seems quite pathetically keen to say that Man Ure fans aren't really that bad. I suspect a Man U fan in denial.

Sorry mate but which ever way you spin it they are exactly as bad as the figures suggest.

Actually, he's a Man City fan...

I think you need to look at it in context as well, you'd expect those clubs with larger crowds at their games to have more banning orders.

Doesn't explain that lot down the road tho does it? Mind you I think I was there the day that they "earned" theirs.

Kind of shoots a hole in our arguing that the Skates are poorly supported then?

He lost his temper when he realised that the club funds were so low that his half time cup of soup was simply potato

21 banning orders and we're cat c?

Something doesn't add up.

We are a Cat C due to our youthful 'firm' , generally speaking nobody is stupid enough to get themselves nicked.

As far as away support goes, ours is most definately one of the most rowdy in England, with a trend on getting hammerd at games, making weekends of it ( mainly due to our location ) etc etc...

We have a very young and very drunk away following, and alot of younger 'casuals' , with the majority being under 25, it doesn't make us have the 'hardest' firm in the country, but it makes us one of the hardest to police.

It is because of our 'young' away following that Southend was switched to try and make it harder for people to stay the weekend in Southend.

All IMO of course.

Didnt work last time, they tried to ban anyone from Southampton from every pub and club in Southend the evening of the game.

20 of us picked birds off the street and bought them a pint in return for them posing as our girlfriends in the nightclub queue.

Genius.

Southend play most of their home games on a Friday night.

I know there is an element of they like to play their games on Friday, as most people in Southend follow West Ham on Saturday but....

... our game ( and Leeds game ) were scheduled for Saturday by Southend, but the police ordered them to be switched to Friday.

Indeed you are correct, along with Charlton and Orient as well.

I cannot think of 1 that follows both, and I know 20+ fans of of each.

I had to laugh at part of Gemmels post

Typical saints bottom as usual.

or is it a case we have been conditioned to be negative of the club.

It would have been better to say we are near the top of the best behaved fans in the country league not near the bottom
