See the Leon and Lawrie sign has been removed from their old box.

and

Only 3 Saints people on first 10 rows of Directors Box last night, more on the Brum side.

Looks like hangers on have disappeared

This just won't die will it........Mike, LC is a fan like you and I, how does that make him a 'hanger on'?????.........I suspect he has done more for the club than you or I, or in fact, many of the posters on here......just drop it!!

most on here do not think Crouch is a hanger on, perhaps a better choice of example might be selected.

Crouch has done good things

After the amount of cash LC put into the club to keep us afloat and the obvious achievements of Lawrie Mac, I think they're moving the sign from the box to stick it on a stand and name it after them.

Glad you pointed that out and that you're in favour of the idea

Sorry

I was not implying Leon was a hanger on , in fact anyone who reads my posts would know, i was firmly in his camp.

Just noticed the Box was no longer showing their names AND that there were very few people on the Saints side of the Directors Box.

Didn't Morph say that Crouch had decided not to re-new his two boxes this season? May have something to do with his Eastleigh sponsorship.

Perhaps he can't afford it or simply given up allegedly trying to buy an important role at the club. IMO I have never bought into the fact that he was giving his money solely for the love of the club but more like a business transaction or the kudos. Why? Because no matter how much he 'donated' or 'wanted to donate' we always seemed to get to know about it. Just my opinion of course but if Crouch and McMenemy have moved on then that is a big relief as much as Lowe and Wilde disappearing from our environs.

Mike useful observations about these 'hangers on', thanks very much.

How about one of the programme stands or the burger bar near the Northam footbridge? Amongst Crouch's many fine moments, his programme notes were right up there and we are always told McMenemy knew his onions.

that's not a bad idea - could you imagine buying a Lawrie big mac before a match by the man himself with a portion of Crouch's curlies?

It was my understanding that ex-directors were now entitled to seats in the 'royal-box' so they don't need boxes of their own to sit in and not be seen. In any case they are no longer potential buyers so have nobody to impress or try to bring on board. Nor do Saints particularly need their money desperately. So many logical reasons for them to let the boxes go.

Mike, Laurie & his wife were at the RoseBowl last night. It was "Presidents Day" and as LMcM is a Vice President of the club he was invited.

Mike Richards is organising a low profile box so I expect a few ex Directors will be in that.
