Murty

Does that mean that James will revert to right back I wonder?... or will AP look for another full back instead....7 days left.

The emergency loan period goes on into October I believe. I think that AP probably wasn't looking to sign another full-back (right or left) but now Murty looks likely to be out for a longish period, I suspect he will bring someone in.

They are now saying it doesn't look as bad as first thought and the ligament isn't torn. Apparently they are now using today to let it settle down and decide tomorrow on the treatment required.

This is better than I thought, as it looked really bad therefore long term.

What I saw was when Murty went down and the ball went away Carsley stamped on his knee as he went past.

In the second half it seemed that Birmingham had decided to come out playing dirty and underhand knowing that the ref was useless and wouldn't come down on them.

Is there any video evidence of this? If it can be proved, then there may be a case for a private prosecution...

Isn't it crazy just how many ACL injuries there are, have been over the past few years, surely more than ever before.

I think that has a lot to do with increasing grip/traction from the shoes. if the foot is stuck to the ground, its bound to be twisted on quick turns etc.

have done my right ACL twice myself !

with modern technology, they actually say the reconstructed ligament should be 10 % stronger than the original one. what takes time,is to train up all the supporting muscles and tissue...thats a boring process aswell !

Yeah, i was out for around 9 months after my recon, though i didn't go all out to get fit, and then towards the end just wanted to make 100% sure i didn't do it again.

But i agree, i blame blades

I saw the incident on BBC south at lunchtime, definitely an accident, and where the Echo got Carr AND Bowyer from I'll never know, it was Murty diving in on Carr to block the shot that caused the accident.

Fair enough. I saw the original block but not any 'afters', probably because there weren't any.

A big shame Murty is a good player and we have missed his Leadership at the back when he's been out if he had of stayed on I am sure we would have gone on and won V Brum towards the end of the season James did ok RB however his is much in midfield we will miss Murty and need a replacement even if a loan

O/S report it as Knee ligament damage...in other words - his season is just about over I'd say.

Surely his season is only over if he's done his anterior cruciate ligament. Looking at the cause of the injury, I think he's more likely to have done his medial ligament which is more painful but takes 2 to 3 months to recover from fully.

See that Luka Modric is out for 6 weeks with a fractured fibula after a crunching tackle from Lee Bowyer. While Murty's injury came from a 50/50 that wasn't malicious, Brum were by far the most aggressive team in the championship last season and show no signs of changing this one.
