The9 Posted 26 August, 2009 Posted 26 August, 2009 Fair play – you were at the game I wasn’t. My comment was made more because of the disappointment of the result. On reflection, if the team played well (despite losing) then applauding/show of appreciation is a requisite. Like I said – knee jerk reaction based purely disappointment. What would you say was the main change last night? Sounded more positive and by all accounts the ref was poor? Main change was the eleven players in Saints shirts trying. That's all there was to it. Every one of them knew that if they didn't put in the effort then we'd get stuffed, so they tried. That's it. Effort. And yeah, the ref missed everything important.
Thedelldays Posted 26 August, 2009 Posted 26 August, 2009 It sounded good and hopefully things can turn around for us. however, (always is with saints) putting up a good show against brum will be utterly pointless if we dont do the same on saturday.. we simply have to start winning...I dont want us to be happy with the performances again and feeling unlucky with the result...that is soooo last year
surrey1saint Posted 26 August, 2009 Posted 26 August, 2009 Yes we played really well and I thought we could have won but I think Birmingham's superior fitness proved decisive in the end. After your comments after the last game I thought I was watching a completely different team. Even Wotton played OK and James was pretty good in Midfield It was well worth a tenner Totally agree. Well said.
