krissyboy31 Posted 25 August, 2009 Posted 25 August, 2009 (edited) According to the SSN transfer webpages Sam Argent has been released. Nothing to confirm this (that I can find) on the OS. He played for the U18's at Man Utd. on Saturday. Edited 26 August, 2009 by krissyboy31
eelpie Posted 25 August, 2009 Posted 25 August, 2009 His profile from the OS: 'A local talent, Argent hails from Basingstoke and he has made swift progress in the last seven years at Saints. A strong right back who rarely puts a foot wrong in the challenge, is also capable of getting forward and providing crosses.' Who has seen him play? Should we be releasing him (if true)?
saintmonkey1979 Posted 25 August, 2009 Posted 25 August, 2009 Seen him a couple of times and he looked good on the ball, strong composed and confident as well as quick and with one hell of a cross. I'd even go as far as to say he has the potential to be a right sided Bridgey. We really shouldn't be releasing him (if true). IMHO is a much better option than LJ at right back.
VectisSaint Posted 25 August, 2009 Posted 25 August, 2009 Never mind lad, you gave it your best shot, just always remember to hold your head up
garryuk Posted 26 August, 2009 Posted 26 August, 2009 Pretty sure he hasn't been released, still has two years left on his contract
Junior Mullet Posted 26 August, 2009 Posted 26 August, 2009 Hmm strange one, but then so was the decision to let Hatch go at the start of the season. We're a bit short of right backs now and the thought of James filling in at RB now that Murty is out doesnt exactly fill me with confidence.
Andy_Porter Posted 26 August, 2009 Posted 26 August, 2009 Looked good the two times i've seen him play. Definatly has the ability so if we've released him he must have done something.
Thedelldays Posted 26 August, 2009 Posted 26 August, 2009 like the rest of our youngsters..wont holding my breath
modern matron Posted 26 August, 2009 Posted 26 August, 2009 Pretty sure he hasn't been released, still has two years left on his contract Hi Gary Is this right? If so really sorry. Nick

Lets B Avenue Posted 26 August, 2009 Posted 26 August, 2009 Never mind lad, you gave it your best shot, just always remember to hold your head up Must be the time of the season.
BotleySaint Posted 26 August, 2009 Posted 26 August, 2009 Must be the time of the season. Yes. It's summertime I guess we'll find out for sure when (s)he's not there in the next game.

samoakley Posted 27 August, 2009 Posted 27 August, 2009 It is not true hes still at the club knowing briefly of him and being friends with his brother who told me the club rated him highly and were always going to offer him pro forms. Would be stupid to let him go on a free a loan move might be good for him to a VC club or something like that.

Just a bit shocked when I saw he'd been released on the Sky Sports website.
