According to the SSN transfer webpages Sam Argent has been released. Nothing to confirm this (that I can find) on the OS. He played for the U18's at Man Utd. on Saturday.

His profile from the OS:

'A local talent, Argent hails from Basingstoke and he has made swift progress in the last seven years at Saints. A strong right back who rarely puts a foot wrong in the challenge, is also capable of getting forward and providing crosses.'

Who has seen him play? Should we be releasing him (if true)?

Seen him a couple of times and he looked good on the ball, strong composed and confident as well as quick and with one hell of a cross. I'd even go as far as to say he has the potential to be a right sided Bridgey. We really shouldn't be releasing him (if true). IMHO is a much better option than LJ at right back.

Hmm strange one, but then so was the decision to let Hatch go at the start of the season. We're a bit short of right backs now and the thought of James filling in at RB now that Murty is out doesnt exactly fill me with confidence.

It is not true hes still at the club knowing briefly of him and being friends with his brother who told me the club rated him highly and were always going to offer him pro forms.

Would be stupid to let him go on a free a loan move might be good for him to a VC club or something like that.

That's what I thought. Just a bit shocked when I saw he'd been released on the Sky Sports website.
